1. 'TRUMP DOES NOT VIEW JEWISH SETTLEMENT AS AN OBSTACLE TO PEACE'
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Jason Greenblatt, one of US President-elect Donald Trump's close advisors, spoke with Army Radio this morning about Trump's future stances with respect to the Jewish State.
In the interview, Greenblatt said that Trump "does not view the settlements as being an obstacle to peace. I think he would show [the expulsion of Jewish communities in Gaza, which didn't bring peace] as proof of that. The two sides are going to have to decide how to deal with that region, but it is certainly not Mr. Trump's view that settlement activity should be condemned and that it is an obstacle for peace - because it is not the obstacle for peace."
Greenblatt said that Trump would not impose a "peace process" on Israel. "He thinks that Israel is in a very tough situation and needs to [do what it has to in order] to defend itself. He is not going to impose any solution on Israel. He thinks that the peace has to come from the parties themselves."
When asked how he knew that Trump would keep his word on moving the American embassy to Jerusalem, Greenblatt noted: "He said that he's going to do it. He's different for Israel than any recent President has been and I think that he's a man who keeps his word. He recognizes the historical significance of the Jewish people to Jerusalem unlike, let's say, UNESCO."

2. WILL NETANYAHU LET TRUMP MOVE EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM?

Former Likud MK and founder of Zehut party Moshe Feiglin said that he is happy that Donald Trump won, but was not surprised, as he had predicted a year and a half ago that he would win both the primaries and the election.
However, he feels that we are in a "very dangerous situation;" if the new president calls Netanyahu and asks to move the American embassy to Jerusalem, he may discover that the Israeli Prime Minister wavers on this issue, and this may affect Trump's regional moves.
Feiglin felt that Trump might then call Putin, who is sitting on our northern border, and tell him to make some sort of settlement on the Golan heights when he sees the Israeli leadership's reluctance to maintain Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria.

Gideon Israel, Co-President of the Jerusalem Washington Institute, says that Donald Trump is not bound by the "Land for Peace" initiatives as previous administrations were, and he can take a new approach to the Middle East; he has a keen sense of who the 'good guys' are around here and this is the basis for his special relationship to Israel.
Trump may even see Israel taking a leading role in solving the problems in the Middle East and may not view the Israeli-Palestinian issue as the central problem in the region as previous presidents did.
Israel says that even though there is military, intelligence and industrial cooperation between America and Israel, there is potential for much more cooperation now with both a new president and a Republican pro-Israel majority in both houses.
One of the main goals of the institute is to teach Israeli parliamentarians how to relate to the US administration and deal effectively with the different branches of government which work differently than they do in Israel.
4. ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTS ERUPT ACROSS THE US
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Thousands of people took to the streets Wednesday night to protest Donald Trump's election, chanting anti-Trump slogans and wreaking havoc in major cities, according to Fox News, despite Hilary Clinton's call for unity and affirmation that she accepted Donald Trump as her president.
In Chicago, several thousand people marched in the streets, gathering outside Chicago's Trump Tower and chanting "Not my president!"
Similar protests erupted in New York City, Philadelphia and Boston, with thousands more flooding the streets chanting anti-Trump slogans.
Police installed barricades outside Trump Tower in New York to keep demonstrators at bay. Hundreds of protesters gathered near Philadelphia's City Hall despite the cold weather.
In Boston, thousands of anti-Trump protesters streamed through downtown, chanting "Trump's a racist" and carrying signs that said "Impeach Trump" and "Abolish Electoral College."
In the Midwest, protesters gathered in Minneapolis, Omaha, Nebraska and Kansas City Missouri. The Des Moines Register also reported that Iowa's capital city saw some people protest as well, though it was kept to small numbers.
Marchers protesting Trump's election chanted and carried signs in front of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. Many chanted "No racist USA, no Trump, no KKK. Another group stood outside the White House. They held candles, listened to speeches and sang songs.
Dozens of Dallas activists gathered outside the city's sports arena, the American Airlines Center.
In Oregon, dozens of people blocked traffic in downtown Portland, burned American flags and forced a delay for trains on two light-rail lines. A Trump supporter at a counter-protest was violently attacked.
Several thousand chanting, sign-waving people gathered in Oakland, California. A night earlier, in the hours after Trump won the election, Oakland demonstrators broke windows and did other damage.
In San Francisco, hundreds are marching along Market Avenue, one of the city's main avenues, to join a vigil in the Castro District, a predominantly gay neighborhood while Los Angeles protesters shut down the Highway 101 freeway and burned a giant paper mache Trump head in protest on the steps of City Hall.
Hundreds massed in downtown Seattle streets. Many held anti-Trump and Black Lives Matter signs and chanted slogans, including "Misogyny has to go," and "The people united, will never be defeated."
Five people were shot and injured in an area near the protest, but police said the shootings and the demonstration were unrelated.
In New York, several groups of protesters caused massive gridlock as police mobilized to contain them. They held signs that read "Trump Makes America Hate" and chanted "hey, hey, ho, ho Donald Trump has got to go." and "Impeach Trump."
5. DERI: REFORM JEWS SUFFERED A BITTER BLOW WITH TRUMP'S ELECTION
by Orli Harari
Shas leader and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri welcomed the results of the American elections Thursday and said that the Reform Jews in America had suffered a "bitter blow".
"It is too early to discuss the possible repercussions of Trumps' election as president," said Interior Minister Deri, "but there is no doubt that we should thank God that all the desecrators of the covenant and impersonators of Judaism who wished to take control of the Land of Israel and introduce their destructive reforms- received a significant blow.
"Their influence and threat came from their connection to the administration in America, they realize that they have lost this power and we can, God willing, continue to strengthen the traditional religion which we received from previous generations.
"Many Jews said over the last few days that if such a miracle happens, it must be the days prior to the advent of the Messiah. We must truly be in Messianic times when everything will turn out favorably for the people of Israel."
6. NETANYAHU TO REQUEST POSTPONEMENT FOR NORMALIZATION LAW
by Chezki Baruch
Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet Thursday morning with Jewish Home ministers Naftali Bennett (Education) and Ayelet Shaked (Justice). The meeting will also be attended by Defense Minister Liberman.
Netanyahu will ask Bennett and Shaked to postpone presenting the Regulation Law on Sunday at the cabinet's legislative committee which is headed by Shaked.
It should be noted that during the course of the Jewish Home faction meeting on Monday, Bennett announced that the Normalization Law would be brought to the legislative committee for discussion next Sunday.
"It is time to grant the hundreds of thousands of residents of Judea and Samaria a normal life." Bennett said.
"I expect all members of the government to support this move. These are normal Israeli citizens, who pay taxes, serve in the army, and fulfill all of their obligations to society. And they are discriminated against just because of where they live. This law will (restore) order in addition to normalization. We have a right-wing government (for the purpose of) doing this, so we're going to do it."
According to the new softer version of the law submitted by MK Betzalel Smotrich and MK Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli (Jewish Home) and Yoav Kish and David Bitan(Likud), the law will only apply to communities established with state approval but not to outposts established without state approval. The new proposal places a special emphasis on the residents' innocence, as they were not allowed to see the registration papers regarding Judea and Samaria and were unaware that their homes were on privately owned land.
Attorney-general Mandelblit expressed his opposition to the proposed law and said he could not defend it in the High Court if a petition was served against it.
The state last week requested a postponement of seven months regarding the directive to destroy Amona. The state said that it wished to investigate different options for the residents, including transferring buildings to "Northern Amona" or east of the village of Shvut Rahel some 10 km further north.
The state added that it wished to evacuate residents peacefully and in a way that would prevent friction. The Attorney-General emphasized that if the court rejected the request, the state would be prepared to perform the evacuation by the time required by the court's ruling.
7. SYRIAN ARMY TO ISRAEL: DON'T ATTACK US AGAIN
by Elad Benari
The Syrian army on Wednesday warned Israel against attacking targets in Syria again, after Israeli forces attacked a Syrian military position in retaliation for a rocket from Syria hitting the Golan Heights.
The rocket was believed to be stray fire from fighting between the Syrian government forces and rebels.
In a statement quoted by the Syrian news agency SANA, the Syrian army said the Israeli attack destroyed one cannon and damaged another.
The statement warned Israeli against the repercussions of another such attack, and also reaffirmed its commitment to its fight against terrorist jihadist groups such as the Islamic State (ISIS) and the Al-Nusra Front, which it referred to as "Israel's tools".
The fighting in Syria has continuously spilled over to the Golan Heights, and the Israel Air Force has retaliated several times.
The Syrian army's claim that jihadist groups in Syria are Israeli proxies is not new. Syria's President, Bashar Al-Assad, recently claimed there is "no contradiction" between Israel and jihadist groups such as ISIS.
"Any terrorist who holds a machine gun and started killing and destroying in Syria was supported by Israel, either indirectly through the logistical support on the frontier, or sometimes by direct intervention by Israel against Syria in different areas in Syria," he said in an interview.
Two years ago, Assad's adviser claimed that Israel was sending fighters to help the rebels fighting to oust Assad.
