1. ISRAEL PREPARING FOR ONE-SIDED UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTIONS
by Nitsan Keidar

Some members of the United Nations Security Council are planning anti-Israel resolutions during the last days of the Obama administration, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, told Arutz Sheva. This comes as no surprise.

The Ambassador reported that he had been alerted to a specific effort to pass one-sided, binding resolutions in the Security Council that could have serious ramifications for the Jewish state.

"We've been hearing for some time from various sources about attempts to take advantage of the lame-duck period after the election, and to pass resolutions against the State of Israel in the Security Council," Danon said.

"We're working on a number of fronts," the Ambassador added, "including with the present [American] government and the incoming administration, as well as with other countries, in order to prevent [one-sided UNSC resolutions]."

Danon then outlined some of the warnings he had received regarding planned efforts towards a Security Council resolution.

"A foreign minister of a member-state in the Security Council told me straight out that he planned to come to New York by the end of the year to push a one-sided resolution in the Security Council. That's why we're taking these preparations [for the effort] very seriously. I hope that America's policy doesn't change [in this regard] – a policy of not supporting one-sided resolutions of the Security Council, which do not enhance regional stability."

The Ambassador also addressed rumors that President Obama is weighing possible unilateral steps to foist a final status agreement on Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

"I'm in close contact with the American Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, and their message has been that so long as there is no [specific] proposal being presented, there's nothing to talk about."

"We've read in various American newspapers from commentators calling on the president to take steps [towards forcing a final status agreement]. I listened very closely to President Obama yesterday when he said that he intends to conduct an orderly transfer of power an ensure the smooth continuance of government – and I hope that those words reinforce the position that a move like this [at the UN Security Council] doesn't strengthen Israel or the ties between Israel and the US."

When asked regarding how the incoming administration's relationship with Israel would likely differ from the present government's, Danon emphasized America's support for Israel in the United Nations.

"We have very good ties with the present administration. We enjoyed strong backing from them [at the UN], a fact that was demonstrated when we competed for control of the judicial committee, an effort which the US helped us enlist support for. I believe this connection will continue."

2. CLINTON DYNASTY TO CONTINUE DESPITE DEFEAT?
by David Rosenberg

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's surprise election defeat on Tuesday likely spells the end of her political career – but it does not necessarily signal the end of the Clinton dynasty.

The Clintons are, according to sources close to the family, preparing their only child, Chelsea, for a political career of her own, laying the groundwork for a congressional campaign.

Chelsea, 36, was involved in both of her mother's presidential bids, campaigning on her behalf in 2008 and 2016.

A board member for a number of organizations including the Clinton Foundation, Chelsea previously worked as a journalist for NBC News, and as an associate for a Wall Street securities firm.

Her parents are reportedly eyeing New York's 17th Congressional District for their daughter's first run, a district that includes Chappaqua, where the Clintons have maintained their private resident for nearly two decades.

Hillary and Bill Clinton in August bought an additional home in Chappaqua, which according to the New York Post is meant for Chelsea and her family.

The incumbent Democrat congresswoman, Nita Lowey, is 79-years old and has served in congress since the 1980s. A strong supporter of Mrs. Clinton, sources close to the Clintons say they are preparing their daughter for the Democratic primary in the district as soon as Lowey retires.

"While it is true the Clintons need some time to regroup after Hillary's crushing loss," an unnamed source told the New York Post, "they will not give up."

"Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand. In the past few years, she has taken a very visible role in the Clinton Foundation and on the campaign trail. While politics isn't the life Hillary wanted for Chelsea, she chose to go on the campaign trail for her mother and has turned out to be very poised, articulate and comfortable with the visibility."

3. 'MEDIA INCITING POST-ELECTION RIOTING'
by David Rosenberg

After hammering the media throughout the presidential race, President-elect Donald Trump isn't letting up on the Fourth Estate, condemning the media for allegedly encouraging the mass protests against his win on Tuesday.

Since the election, demonstrations – some of them violent – have hit cities across the United States.

In downtown Oakland, rioters destroyed storefronts, burned garbage, and called for Trump's assassination. Similar demonstrations were reported in Los Angeles, Portland, Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Trump said the demonstrations were, given his decisive election win, "Very unfair!"

The President-elect blamed the media, saying news outlets had "incited" the protesters.

"Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!"

Trump's tweet on the protests came hours after he met with President Obama for the first time, in the first of several planned meetings in the White House.

The Oval Office meeting on Thursday marks the beginning of the 70-day transition of power, which will be capped off with Trump's inauguration on January 20th.

President Obama called the meeting "excellent," and said the time had come to unite behind the new president and ensure he succeeds.

"It is important for all of us, regardless of party, regardless of political preferences to now come together, work together," Obama said.

"If you succeed, the country succeeds," the president told Trump.

4. DID FACEBOOK INFLUENCE ELECTION OUTCOME?
by Gary Willig

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg defended the social media platform from accusations that the sharing of fake news stories on it contributed to the stunning victory of Donald Trump in Tuesday's US Presidential election.

"The idea that fake news on Facebook influenced the election in any way is a pretty crazy idea," he said.

"I think there is a certain profound lack of empathy in asserting that the only reason someone could have voted the way they did is because they saw fake news." he added. "If you believe that then I don't think you have internalized the message Trump supporters are trying to send in this election."

It is easy to spread false information over social media, and fake news stories, such as a story that claimed that Pope Francis had endorsed Trump, were shared hundreds of thousands of times on Facebook. Follow-up stories debunking the fake stories were not shared as often as the original stories.

Facebook was accused of aiding Democrats and liberals earlier this year, after it was reported that moderators were deliberately burying news articles from right-wing sources and pushing news artilcles from left-wing sources.

5. 'CLINTON MORE RELAXED THAN SHE'S BEEN IN DECADES'
by Gary Willig

Hillary Clinton has stayed out of the public eye in the days since she lost the US Presidential election to Donald Trump. However, Clinton has not reacted to the defeat that likely means the end of her political career by staying home and avoiding interactions with other people.

A mother in Westchester, New York, who was upset over Trump's victory went on a hike through the woods when she came upon Clinton walking with her husband, Bill and their dogs. The Clintons were taking a relaxing hike following the elections.

Margot Gerster took a photograph with the former First Lady and posted the picture to Facebook, along with a description of their chance meeting.

Gerster wrote: "As we were leaving, I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was. I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my proudest moments as a mother was taking Phoebe with me to vote for her," the post continued.

"She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk. Now, I'm not one for signs but I think I'll definitely take this one. So proud."

Clinton appears to be very relaxed in the photograph, which was taken just two days after she lost the elections and conceded the Presidency of the United States to Donald Trump.

Gregory Locke, a friend of Gerster's remarked that "Hilary Clinton may not be where she wanted to be today, but she looks relaxed, perhaps for the first time since 1979."

6. 'WHERE WERE THE ARABS FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS?'
by Ido Ben Porat

Religious Zionist Rabbinic leader, Rabbi Haim Druckman, former MK and head of the hesder yeshiva network, currently Rosh Yeshiva of the Or Etzion Yeshiva and head of the Bnei Akiva Youth Movement, called on the government and the Prime Minister to enact the Regulation (aka Normalization) law to save the town of Amona in an interview with Arutz Sheva.

"We have to find a way to [see to it that] Amona is not destroyed." Rabbi Druckman said. "The destruction of Amona is wrong, simply wrong. And we must find a way to prevent this injustice. If the only way (to do so) is with the Regulation Law, then we have to pass the regulation law to ensure that justice remains in the State of Israel."

Rabbi Druckman said that if the High Court was following the letter of the law when it ruled that Amona be destroyed, then the law should be changed. "We have to save the State of Israel from the laws of Sodom (unjust laws)."

"Why destroy Amona? It is destruction for destruction's sake," he asked in despair. "Imagine if someone would prove that the Azrieli Towers (in Tel Aviv) were built on his land, how would the court rule? To destroy the Azrieli Towers? I am sure that they would provide compensation for the land. The same should be done in Amona, although I doubt that it is actually Arab land. Where were they 20 years ago? Why did they not sue for their land? Why did they only remember (that they own the land) now?"

His answer was that left wing NGOs funded by the EU are behind the move. Ever since they lost electorally, with the vast majority of Israelis choosing a rightist government, they have begun to turn to the courts where the fact that Israel did not declare sovereignty on Judea and Samaria and instead goes by Jordanian law in matters of land, acts in their favor.

Blaming extreme left-wing groups for the impending expulsion of the residents of Amona from their homes, the venerable Torah leader said. "Recently, our brothers on the left have found someone who claims that it is his land. If it really is his then we should give him compensation. Why destroy?" he repeated.

"Everything must be done to prevent the destruction and to ensure that this injustice is not carried out.

"We have merited to have a country and a government. In my opinion it must act under the foundations of truth and justice to save Amona and to give compensation to those it need to. If the Regulation Law is the way to do that then we must pass it immediately."

7. TRUMP: ISRAEL IS A RAY OF HOPE TO THE WORLD
by David Rosenberg

Just two days after his stunning election victory, President-elect Donald Trump delivered a message to Israel, describing his personal affection for the Jewish state and hopes that his administration will be able to strengthen ties strained by eight years of tense relations between Israel and the Obama administration.

Calling Israel a "ray of hope," Trump released the statement to the Israel HaYom newspaper, which is owned by prominent Jewish Republican donor, Sheldon Adelson. Adelson backed Trump in this year's election towards the end of the race, giving tens of millions of dollars to the Trump campaign and pro-Trump political action committees.

"I love and respect Israel and its citizens," wrote Trump. "Israel and the US share so many common values, like free speech, freedom of worship, and the special emphasis on creating opportunities for all citizens to fulfill their dreams."

"I look forward to strengthening the unbreakable bond between our two great peoples. I know well that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, and that it is the only one that defends human rights, and that it is a ray of hope for many people."

Along with his praise for the Jewish state, Trump also touched upon the thorniest issue in the Israel-US relationship – the two-state solution.

The 2016 Republican platform removed all references to the two-state solution, and Trump refrained from outlining the parameters of a final status agreement, saying only that the US must limit itself to aiding the two sides to reach an agreement on their own – without coercion.

"I believe that my administration will be able to fill an important role in aiding the two sides to reach a just and lasting peace, one which must come through negotiations between the two sides themselves, and not through coercion by outside elements. Israel and the Jewish people deserve it."

8. BIKERS HONOR ISRAELI TERROR VICTIM
by Hezki Baruch

Watch the mass memorial ride in honor of Yosef Kirma, the Jerusalem special operations police officer killed while responding to a terror attack in October.

Kirma, a member of the motorcycle-based Special Patrol Unit, was remembered on Friday by his fellow bikers, who chose a unique way to honor his memory.
