1. OFRA EVICTIONS: 3 HOMES EVACUATED, 5 OFFICERS INJURED
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Security forces operating in the town of Ofra, north of Jerusalem, have evacuated three of the nine homes slated for demolition Tuesday afternoon.

Protesters opposing the evictions scuffled with police in and around the nine homes, leaving five officers injured. Two protesters have been arrested.

The evacuation of nine houses in the Givat Tzvi neighborhood of Ofra commenced just after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, after Border Police officers sealed off access to the homes slated for demolition.

Hundreds of demonstrators faced off against security forces deployed to the town, with some protesters barricading themselves inside houses facing demolition.

Prior to the evacuation, more than 100 Border Police officers deployed around the nine homes slated for demolition in Ofra.

Officers blocked off access to the Givat Tzvi neighborhood, isolating the area ahead of the evacuation. In addition, security forces surrounded each of the nine homes individually, cutting off movement within the neighborhood.

Confrontations between security forces and demonstrators were reported early Tuesday morning ahead of the evacuation.

On Monday, the Supreme Court announced that they rejected the residents' petition asking not to demolish the nine homes.

The judges did not accept the request of the residents to seal the nine houses rather than demolish them and also clarified that the recently approved Regulation Law does not apply to them.

Last Wednesday the state responded to the Ofra residents' request that the nine houses not be destroyed but rather sealed.

In its response, the state argued that the Regulation Law does not apply to these nine homes. The state noted that it did not believe there is reason not to destroy the homes and thus its position is that the request should be rejected. MK Smotrich, who drafted the law, believes the opposite is true.

The residents had requested in a separate petition that the courts give them a three month extension to find alternate housing, so they could move "from door to door" in their words. Chief Justice Miriam Naor rejected the request.

The land on which the houses were built has not been claimed by any specific Arab. Jordan claimed sovereignty over Judea and Samaria after conquering the area in 1949 from the fledgling Jewish state to whom it had been granted, but Jordan's claim was recognized only by the UK and Pakistan. Jordan then handed out land, much of it to fictitious owners according to Yehuda Yifrach, head of the legal desk at the Hebrew Makor Rishon newspaper, and some to owners who cannot be located and have never used the land or paid taxes on it.

The homes are in the middle of Ofra, in a populated residential area, so that it is doubtful that an Arab, if one with proofs of ownership appears, would want to build on the land. Compensation for any [as yet unknown] owner, unless mandated by the Israeli government, would put the owner in danger in the PA, where selling land to Jews is punishable by death.

Esther, one of the mothers whose home is to be destroyed today, spoke on Israel's Reshet Bet this morning and said what many Israelis have realized: "The left has little electoral power, as the Israeli voter has abandoned leftist philosophy since the 'disengagement' from Gush Katif, when instead of peace, Israel suffered thousands of rockets launched from Gaza. The left has learned to use the Israeli Supreme Court to achieve its goals."

She stressed: "The Courts did not ask for proof. They did not ask for a landowner or his descendants to claim the land. My home was built with a permit from the regional authority exactly the way other homes are built in Israel. We were even not given a day in court to present our case. The court simply accepted the leftist NGO's claim. This means that Israel's Supreme Court has decided to accept Jordan's sovereignty over the land! And our Prime Minister has had 4 terms to do something about it and has done nothing. I hope he did not sleep last night. I didn't."

Esther has moved out of her home, which she says is empty of her possessions but is still filled with love. However, to prevent trauma to her children, her family has moved to a temporary home in Ofra and intends today, she says, to lay the cornerstone for a larger and even more beautiful, loving home in Ofra.

2. AHMADINEJAD TO TRUMP: US BELONGS TO EVERYONE
by David Rosenberg

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote a 3,500 word letter to President Donald Trump in which he slams the new administration's restrictions on immigration and US "dominance" of the United Nations.

The letter was transferred to the US via the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, which serves as the point of contact between the United States and Iran.

In the document, Ahmadinejad congratulated President Trump's November win and praised his 2016 campaign, which the former Iranian leader said "truthfully described the US political system and electoral structure as corrupt."

But Ahmadinejad, who during his tenure as president threatened to "wipe Israel off the map" and publicly suggested the Holocaust was a hoax, chided Trump over his recent executive order temporarily restricting immigration from seven high-risk countries, saying the US must "value respect toward the diversity of nations and races."

Ahmadinejad went on to argue that the United States "belongs to all nations", suggesting the US has no right to regulate immigration into the country.

"In other words, the contemporary US belongs to all nations, including the natives of the land," Ahmadinejad wrote. "No one may consider themselves the owner and view others as guests or immigrants."

The former Iranian leader made no reference in the letter to Iran's nuclear program or tensions with the West stemming from Iran's recent ballistic missile tests. Instead, Ahmadinejad berated American "dominance" of the United Nations, assailing it as the cause of "insecurity, war, division, killing, and displacement of nations."

Ahmadinejad also penned letters to presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama during their terms in office.

3. AMONA HQ ANNOUNCES HUNGER STRIKE
by Uzi Baruch

The Amona headquarters announced a hunger strike to begin Wednesday opposite the Prime Minister's house in central Jerusalem.

"Demolition follows demolition. The promises are meaningless and the nationalist government led by Binyamin Netanyahu and Naftali Bennett has lost its right to exist," said Amona leaders.

"It is inconceivable that after wiping out Amona, while hearts are still weeping and refusing to be comforted over the destruction of twenty years of life's work, with Amona families in unlivable conditions for a month already, eight people per room and parents and their children in one room -and just a few hundred meters away the government destroys another neighborhood of permanent dwellings and removes their residents. Is this the government we voted for?

"How can you, Naftali Bennett, who committed to building a new community in place of the one destroyed, rest on your bed in Raanana and sleep peacefully despite the destruction and the human tragedy and moral cataclysm? How can you, Binyamin Netanyahu, who signed and committed to the members of Amona to build a new town, how can you continue to trot around the world while here at home, towns and entire neighborhoods of pioneers, citizens who voted for you, are wiped out and their entire lives are ruined?" ask the Amona leaders.

"As of tomorrow we will begin a hunger strike at a tent we have set up opposite the prime minister's house until the fulfillment of the commitment to establish a new town in place of Amona. We ask the public to join us in our strike at the protest tent."

4. 'WHEN YOU'RE DATING AN ARAB MAN, YOU'RE NOT REALLY YOURSELF'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Some 70 women and their children who were rescued from Arab villages took part in a special event organized by the Yad L'Achim anti-assimilation group Friday and Saturday in the town of Kfar Chabad.

The two-day event included a wide variety of activities for the women and their children, beginning with the baking of hallot bread for Shabbat.

After evening prayers on Friday, the women shared their personal stories with one another.

"The girls stayed up until the wee hours of the night with the staff who organized the Shabbat, holding discussions and asking many of the questions bothering them," a statement from Yad L'Achim read.

The goal of the event, say organizers, was to provide the women and their children a safe, welcoming atmosphere to connect with their Jewish roots.

"Aside from giving the mothers space and peace of mind," said Suri Kostelitz, one of the organizers, "the goal of the activities was to strengthen their Jewish identity, and give them an understanding of basic concepts in Judaism It was amazing to see after Shabbat a six-year old boy who insisted on hearing the Havdalah (ritual ending Shabbat) twice – once with the other children and once with the mothers. It was the first time in his life that he was exposed to this."

For the young women born in Arab villages to a Jewish mother and Arab father, special discussions were held separately, focusing on the idea of Jewish identity.

During one such discussion, S., a 45-year old woman with an Arab father and Jewish mother who left her village half a year ago, described her own experiences in a mixed family.

"My mother married an Arab, and passed away at age 52 from a serious illness. A few days before she died she told me that her dream was that one of her daughters would leave the village and return [to Judaism]."

S. added that she felt she was fulfilling her mother's dying wish, and said she had decided to begin observing Shabbat from now on.

Another woman recently rescued from an Arab village, R., described her life with an Arab husband.

"When you're with an Arab [man], you're an Arab woman," she said. "You're dressed like an Arab, speak like an Arab, run the house like an Arab, and even eat like an Arab. You aren't yourself! That's what bothered me."

5. RABBI: 'I WAS LYNCHED BY THE LGBT COMMUNITY'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Rabbi Haim Navon, a leading Religious Zionist rabbi in the town of Modi'in and popular columnist and lecturer, has temporarily closed his Facebook site after a post he wrote regarding the definition of family aroused the ire of the LGBT community.

"I was lynched by the LGBT's, so I temporarily closed my Facebook account," Navon told Arutz Sheva.

The controversial post was written in response to the publication on the Israeli Air Force Facebook site of a post about two men who are "married" to one another. Navon responded to the IAF's defense of the "marriage" claiming that "we are all equal," stating that equality was not the issue here.

"If I can't play football, I can't demand of the Football Association to recognize my chess team as a football team...Marriage and family are the oldest human institutions and they do not refer to a relationship between two men as being a marriage. Anyone can live with whomever he or she wants, but they cannot force us to change our definitions of matrimony and family. Those who activate the IAF Facebook page also do not have that right... If they wish to celebrate marriage and family values they ought to maintain the definition of marriage as written in Israeli law," wrote Navon.

Rabbi Navon referred to Israeli law and did not refer to Jewish law, which expressly forbids the homosexual act and does not even consider the idea of a same sex relationship being termed a marriage.

6. ALAN DERSHOWITZ WILL NOT LEAVE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
by Gary Willig

World famous legal scholar and Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz announced that he would not leave the Democratic party following Keith Ellison's defeat in the election for Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman, the Algemeiner reported.

Dershowitz had earlier announced that he would leave the party if Ellison, a former member of the Nation of Islam movement who stated at a fundraiser in 2010 that US foreign was "governed" by Israeli interests and who voted against providing funding for Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system, was elected the DNC chairman.

While Ellison was narrowly defeated by former Labor Secretary Tom Perez, Perez immediately announced that he was appointing Ellison his deputy.

Ellison's appointment was not enough to prompt Dershowitz to leave the Democratic party. Instead he pledged to ""remain and fight hard for it to move toward the center and away from the anti-Israel and far-Left trends" which have seeped into the Democratic party.

Dershowitz expressed his dissatisfaction with Perez's appointment of Ellison. "I wish Perez had not appointed Ellison as his deputy. I consider Ellison to be disqualified, due to his association with Nation of Islam leader the Reverend Louis Farakhan; his denial that Farakhan is an antisemite; and because he opposed providing the Iron Dome missile defense system to Israel."

However, he said that Ellison's defeat made him hopeful that the extremist element in the Democratic party could be defeated as well.

7. TRUMP: OBAMA IS BEHIND LEAKS
by David Rosenberg

President Donald Trump has accused his predecessor, Barack Obama, of instigating a series of leaks within the administration and the raucous town hall meetings facing Republican lawmakers across the country.

The White House has faced a wave of leaks to the media since inauguration day more than a month ago, as the administration works to fill hundreds of remaining vacancies, leaving temporary Obama administration holdovers in place.

As the Trump administration looks to plug the leaks, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer ordered staffers to submit their cellular devices for examination, to ensure they had not made unauthorized contacts with media outlets.

Multiple sources told CNN Monday night that this heightened surveillance was approved by President Trump, who they say is outraged over the leaks.

Spicer denied that claim, however, saying the president "did not sign off or even know what I did. That is not accurate."

Speaking with Fox News on Monday, President Trump suggested that his predecessor, President Obama, was responsible for both the recent flood of leaks and disruptions of town hall meetings held by Republican lawmakers.

"I think he is behind it," said Trump. "I also think it is politics, that's the way it is."

"I think that President Obama is behind it because his people are certainly behind it. And some of the leaks possibly come from that group, which are really serious because they are very bad in terms of national security. But I also understand that is politics. In terms of him being behind things, that's politics. And it will probably continue."

Among the recent leaks to media outlets are the details of a tense phone call to Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and security meetings between White House representatives and Russian army officials.

2. FEMALE TERRORIST SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR STABBING ATTACK
by Arutz Sheva Staff

[youtube:2014110]

A Lod district court sentenced a 23-year old Israeli-Arab woman to 16 years in prison for a stabbing attack on a Jewish woman last April.

On April 3rd, 2016, Shatila Abu-Iyada, a resident of the Israeli-Arab city of Kfar Kassem, stabbed a 30-year old mother of three in the nearby city of Rosh Haayin.

While her family initially denied the attack was nationalistically-motivated, Abu-Iyada told investigators she had originally planned to bomb Jewish restaurant patrons to avenge the death of Muhammed Abu-Khdeir, an Arab teenager killed in 2014 following the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli youths.

After she failed to construct an explosive device, Abu-Iyada placed two knives in her purse and headed out to find a victim in Rosh Haayin. After settling upon a target, she drew the knives and stabbed her victim, who managed to flee in the midst of the attack. Civilians at the scene then confronted Abu-Iyada and aided in her capture.

The sentence is part of a plea bargain agreement, which includes a 16-year prison sentence for attempted murder, as well as 100,000 shekels ($27,160) in compensation to the victim.

3. IDF HITS GAZA
by Arutz Sheva Staff

IDF forces struck a number of Hamas positions in the northern Gaza Strip Monday morning, following rocket fire from Gaza into Israel.

The rocket landed in an open area in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council in southern Israel late Sunday night. No damage or injuries were reported.

In response, IDF artillery units struck a number of Hamas positions across the northern Gaza Strip.

4. MAN IMPERSONATING INTERIOR MINISTRY OFFICIAL ARRESTED
by Shlomo Pyotrovsky

Israel Police arrested last week an Arab resident of Jerusalem suspected of impersonation and fraudulently obtaining money.

Initial investigations show the suspect, 48, impersonated the Interior Ministry's Family Reunification Department Director several times in the past six months.

Assuming he was the department's director, Arab residents of Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria paid him money and gave him the documents necessary to advance their cases. Immediately after receiving both documents and money, the suspect disappeared.

So far, investigators have managed to locate 15 of the victims, who filed a complaint against the suspect.

Authorities estimate the suspect pocketed approximately 150,000 NIS.

The suspect's arrest has been extended until Tuesday and his investigation is still ongoing, with investigators hoping to find additional victims who can provide testimony against him.

"Israel Police works continuously to find and arrest those suspected of fraudulently collecting the money of innocent citizens... We will continue to work for the safety of all citizens, including those living in Jerusalem's Arab neighborhoods," a police spokesman said.

5. TRUMP REVOKES 'TRANSGENDER BATHROOM LAW'
by Chana Roberts

[youtube:2025136]

US President Donald Trump has revoked an Obama-era federal guideline forcing public schools to allow students to use the bathroom corresponding to their chosen gender identity.

Though the Obama administration published the directive as a set of guidelines, schools were warned they would lose funding if they did not comply.

Trump has said several times that his administration is "determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community." However, he also said the issue of bathroom segregation belongs to the state and local authorities, and the federal government should not intervene.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Wednesday said Trump, "is a firm believer in states' rights."

Obama's guidelines were put on hold by a Texas federal judge after 13 states sued, arguing the federal government had overstepped its bounds.

Meanwhile, transgender advocacy groups insisted the "law" was necessary in order to protect trans students from discrimination.

Conservative activists hailed Trump's announcement, saying Obama's directives were illegal and violated the rights of cisgender students, especially girls who did not feel safe changing or using the restroom next to anatomical males.

One transgender activist, Caitlyn Jenner, tweeted on Saturday, "This is a disaster. See you in court."

6. ATTEMPTED TERROR ATTACK NORTH OF JERUSALEM
by Arutz Sheva Staff

An Arab woman who charged security guards at the Kalandia checkpoint north of Jerusalem was neutralized and arrested Monday.

The woman reportedly approached guards operating the checkpoint, walking through a lane designated for vehicular traffic. When guards ordered her to halt, the woman drew an object, possibly a knife, and continued to approach them.

After ignoring repeated orders to halt, the woman was arrested.

8. 'THERE ARE 15 TERROR TUNNELS UNDER GAZA BORDER'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The State Comptroller will release the report on Operation Protective Edge on Tuesday, two and a half years after the conflict.

Senior officials in the Security Cabinet and elsewhere said today that Hamas currently has at least 15 attack tunnels, and their remarks raised questions about the efficacy of the operation's achievements as declared by the political and security establishment following the 50 day conflict.

According to a report by Channel 2, officials say that Hamas currently has attack tunnels which cross under the border from Gaza into Israel. The IDF had announced at the end of Operation Protective Edge that it had destroyed all attack tunnels. These may, however, be tunnels built after the operation, as Hamas diverts cement allowed into Gaza for civilian reconstruction and uses it to build tunnels.

There have been a significant number of accidents in the tunnels, causing speculation about whether Israel has developed methods to cause tunnels to collapse, and what those suspected methods might be. Speculations run from man-made tremors to lower grade cement. The government has not answered questions on the subject.

1. SPECIAL INTERVIEW: MOSHE FEIGLIN RETURNS TO THE RING
by Yoni Kempinski

[youtube:2025125]

Moshe Feiglin, former Knesset member, founder and candidate to head the Zehut ("Identity") party, imparts his political, economic, and social philosophy in an exclusive and extended interview with Arutz Sheva.

Feiglin is not hesitant to say he is preparing for elections and says the government is in its final stretch: "An average government in Israel serves two-and-a-half years, so we are in the final stretch of an average term and this conference brings Zehut into the political dialogue. We will vote in the convention using the primary system. Following the conference we will create tools such as a political slogan and campaign slogans. This conference is going to be unique, full of passion and culture, joy and hope."

The interview was conducted on the eve of the first party conference to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Hangar 11 in Tel Aviv port. In anticipation of the convention Feiglin explains why he is returning to politics after a brief tenure as a Likud Knesset member and then retirement for the sake of establishing a new movement: "There is a message that burns in my bones and a mission that the State Israel must fulfill. When it got stuck and entangled in the Likud, we created a new mechanism. Politics is not the end but a means to the destination to which we are moving."

Regarding criticism voiced by many on the right that Zehut is leading to further fragmentation among the ranks of the right, Feiglin aggressively responds: "Those who destroyed Amona and Gush Katif and Yamit back then were the same ones calling upon us not to split. It wasn't the Supreme Court as many among us unfortunately try to convince us. It was not the left and not Obama and Trump; it was us, the Right, or rather the right-wing politicians. There are thousands of houses across the country that have demolition orders against them. Why have they not begun to destroy them? Why do they go after the Jews first? Why in those cases does the honorable Supreme Court not intervene?

"I do not feel that I'm causing division, I feel like I'm introducing a great force into politics; serious and meaningful with direction and the ability to cope with these pressures of the left. Because we come with a very clear program and a platform of more than three hundred pages. Anyone who followed my activities in the Knesset knows that I always knew where the red lines are. I would not stay a minute in a government that destroyed villages, and here the Right is on the inside, even trying to describe us how it was able to pass this law that is clear to everyone won't pass the High Court. Only Zehut provides direction and the real ideological power that stands behind it, for the Israeli Right."

How do you characterize Zehut?

"Connecting Jewish identity on the one hand, with all the freedoms which the Jewish people stand for on the other, a connection that produces a very wide range of potential activists and voters. Our headquarters in Tel Aviv has people coming and going from all sectors of the population".

Is it true that even some Meretz people support you?

"It is true enough for Yediot to write an article about it Saturday. The head of our Eilat branch (we have over 20 branches across the country) previously ran the Meretz branch in Eilat for many years. He belongs to an old and ideological Meretz family. But when this connection between identity and the freedom to create was made, they found their place with us in Zehut. We are of course not a leftist party. We are the party with the greatest determination to keep the Land of Israel that there is, but yes, we are open to the entire population."

Feiglin emphasizes that the value of liberalism emblazoned on his party's flag is a Jewish value that passed as our tradition since Mount Sinai.

The Zehut party leader explains why his party is the only true Democratic Party today in Israel: "First, I submitted my candidacy together with registered members of the party, we are going to hold primaries, and we are going to vote on the primaries method where there will also be a stage two before the election in which all the citizens of Israel will be able to rank the candidates on the list. We are talking about a truly democratic party that turns to all citizens, not just this or that sector."

Feiglin again attacked Netanyahu, with whom he strove time and again during his membership in the Likud. Feiglin accuses Netanyahu of sideswiping the US President from the left: "Unfortunately things are evolving just as I warned. It's not difficult to understand, and US officials have talked about it, Netanyahu is the one who prevented Trump from moving the embassy to Jerusalem, and it is Netanyahu who repeatedly steers Trump to the idea of two states."

Feiglin also compares acting Prime Minister Netanyahu with former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon: "In a situation where the Likud Prime Minister is under investigation, it seems the Israeli Right would do well to shake off their euphoria and recall another prime minister, the most right-wing we ever had, before the disengagement. This combination of a Likud Prime Minister and an American President who flows with whatever Netanyahu gives him, add to that the investigations against Netanyahu, all these vectors should turn on all the red lights for whoever learned a little of his own history."

Feiglin's political philosophy has been formulated since his Likud days and he recounts it: "Zehut's political program is detailed in a very orderly fashion in our platform: Applying Israeli sovereignty in all parts of the Land of Israel in our hands from the sea to the Jordan River. Residents are offered three options: 1) A generous and orderly migration package using some of the funds we invested in the mad Oslo process. 2) Those wishing to stay and have no background in terrorism and recognize Israel's sovereignty openly and officially, may remain as permanent residents, not citizens but with all human rights and without the right to vote. 3) Individuals wishing to serve in the IDF, pledge allegiance, and tie their fate to the Zionist vision like the Druze, also will be clear for a process that can also involve citizenship."

2. 'ALLOW THE BABIES TO RETURN HOME'
by Hezki Baruch

MK Haim Jelin (Yesh Atid), who heads the Knesset's Israel-Mexico Union, asked Mexico's Carlos Arrieta to intervene in the crisis created by Mexico's new surrogacy laws.

Under Mexico's new policy, three Israeli fathers who paid Mexican surrogates to have their babies cannot bring those babies home, since Mexico refuses to release the babies' birth certificates.

In Jelin's letter, he wrote, "TOur countries share a deep respect and a strong connection. We would like to come to a mutually approved agreement, which will allow the Israeli fathers and their babies to return to Israel without breaking local Mexican laws.

"The recent policy change, which came into effect a year ago, led the Mexican authorities to refuse to grant birth certificates to the babies who were born to Israeli citizens through Mexican surrogacy. The Israelis and their babies are currently trapped in Mexico, without financial resources or proper health care.

"Israeli representatives are willing to sit with the local authorities to find a solution which will allow these babies to return to their homes in Israel.

"Since our two countries have deep connections and we work parallel and as partners, I am asking your help in bringing this crisis to a close and aiding these Israeli families."

This is not the first time Israeli fathers have run into issues taking babies born to surrogates abroad home to Israel. In 2014, Israeli authorities warned citizens not to use Thai surrogates, since the babies are considered Thai citizens in every sense.

3. WHAT LURKS WITHIN AN INNOCENT CANE?
by Ido Ben-Porat

Israeli police operating in the Western Wall plaza were called on Friday to the security post at the entrance to the Wall after a suspicious object was found in the possession of a 60-year-old tourist.

Examining police officers found the tourist's walking stick to contain a sword.

Police interrogated the tourist and heard from her that since she has trouble walking in the alleys of the Old City, she acquired in one of the shops a walking stick to get around with, which she used until arriving at the security post at the Western Wall's entrance.

The tourist was shocked to see the sword hidden in the cane and told investigators where the concealed sword was purchased.

Investigators responded to the tourist's request to get her cane back, but not before removing the sword. They then returned it to her to enable her to continue to walking and moving around safely.

ISIS terrorists are planning "indiscriminate attacks in innocent civilians" in Britain, reported British terrorism watchdog head.

British expert on terrorism laws Attorney Max Hill told the Sunday Telegraph, "In terms of the threat that's represented, I think the intensity and the potential frequency of serious plot planning – with a view to indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians of whatever race or color in metropolitan areas – represents an enormous ongoing risk that none of us can ignore.

"So I think that there is undoubtedly significant ongoing risk which is at least as great as the threat to London in the 70s when the IRA were active on the mainland."

British Security Minister Ben Wallace said, "Experts have warned that their ambition is a mass casualty attack and they have no moral barrier to using whatever means possible.

"The ambition of ISIS or Daesh is definitely mass casualty attacks. They want to harm as many people as possible and terrorize as many people as possible.

"They have no moral objection to using chemical weapons against populations and if they could, they would in this country.

"The casualty figures which could be involved would be everybody's worst fear. We have certainly seen reports of them using it in Syria and Iraq (and) we have certainly seen aspiration for it in Europe."

Wallace also warned of traitors, "There are traitors. We have to be on our guard for the enemy within. The insider threat, as we would call it, is real and it can be exploited and there are people trying to do that as we speak."

He also warned ISIS cells in Morroco, Syria, and Iraq owned substances which could be used to make either a bomb or a "deadly toxin."

British security officials have repeatedly warned that ISIS may target Britain after losing ground in Iraq and Syria.

6. 'I WON'T LET THE JUSTICE MINISTER HURT THE COALITION'
by Hezki Baruch

Coalition Chairman David Bitan (Likud) on Sunday slammed Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) for 'harming the coalition' by 'misusing' her position as Ministerial Committee for Legislation Chairwoman.

"It's a shame journalists are still responding to Shaked's commands," Bitan said, refuting rumors that the coalition had refused to pass social benefits.

"I will not allow the Justice Minister to harm the Likud, UTJ, Yisrael Beytenu, or Shas. This is an ideological disagreement the Knesset has with the Legislation Committee. We need to coordinate our actions appropriately.

"No harm will befall any social laws. We have appointed a separate committee to decide what our priorities should be. And even if a law proposal is pushed off for a few weeks, no harm will be done.

"The law lengthening maternity leave from 14 weeks to 15 weeks is still being legislated, and it will take time. If it has waited 68 years, it can wait another week for us to iron out the plans which will allow several other social laws to pass, despite the Justice Ministry's opposition to the matter."

7. 6 ORPHANS IN DIRE POVERTY LAUNCH EMERGENCY FAMILY FUND
by Kupat Ha'ir

Last Friday, the orphans of 'the Y. family' opened an emergency campaign, begging for help. Their mother, who has been living with multiple sclerosis for over a decade, previously relied on the help of her husband to watch after their children. Two weeks ago, Rabbi 'Y' died suddenly, leaving the household in a state of devastation & poverty. See their full plea below:

[youtube:2025103]

Hello,

We are the orphans of the Y. family.

Our mommy is very, very sick. We don't know how long she will live, but there is no cure for what she has. She has muscle spasms, she can't walk normally, and she is terrible pain.

That's why, until now, our father watched us kids around the house. We're 12 kids, 6 married, and 6 at home. Two weeks ago, our father died. While my siblings and I held each other, and cried until we couldn't cry anymore, we couldn't help but wonder - what will be?

We are so poor. Mommy is too sick to work. With Daddy gone, how will we eat? Where will we live?

There isn't a clearer way to put it: My siblings and I are scared.

We are hungry, grieving, and truly, truly poor.

If you can please find it in your heart to donate to our emergency family fund, it will mean the difference between pangs of hunger in my younger siblings' stomachs, and a hot meal on Shabbat (Sabbath).

It can mean the difference between being the orphan with the torn and stained clothes at school, and not having to feel ashamed of our appearances. It can mean the difference between homelessness, out on the street with a mother who cannot walk, and a warm home to live in.

You can save our lives. Please don't turn us away.

Thank you, and bez"H you should never have to live through the suffering we are experiencing.

S.Y.

8. ARAB WOMAN CONVICTED OF ASSAULTING MK MUALEM
by Shlomo Pietrekovski

Jerusalem Magistrate's Court convicted today (Tuesday) an Arab woman who attacked MK Shuli Mualem as she visited the Temple Mount.

According to the indictment the attacker, Sachar Natshe, shouted at Mualem "go away" and "Allah Akbar" as she pushed her and prevented her from entering the compound.

The incident took place in November, 2014, when Mualem ascended the Temple Mount, as she has done before and after, until the ban on Knesset members ascending the Mount was announced.

When Mualem came to Mount she was surrounded by dozens of women screaming and chanting to prevent her from visiting the Mount, and one of them actually attacked her.

The assailant was indicted today.

1. PARIS ATTACK: 'THE UGLIEST ANTI-SEMITISM IS REARING ITS HEAD'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely reacted to the brutal attack this week of Parisian Jews.

"The winds of hate are blowing against Jews around the world, the ugliest anti-Semitism is rearing its head," she said.

"We must act forcefully in order to fight Jew-hatred. The government of France created an important program for the struggle against anti-Semitism which led to a decrease in the violent attacks, but despite this we must act with a strong hand against those seeking to cause harm, and strengthen the Jewish community," Hotovely said.

Hotovely's comments come after two Jewish brothers were abducted briefly and beaten severely by several men in suburban Paris this week.

The attackers surrounded the brothers, then kicked and punched them repeatedly while threatening that they would be murdered if they moved. One of the attackers then sawed off the finger of one of the brothers.

2. 'JUDICIAL ACTIVISM WILL BECOME A RARE EVENT'
by Benny Toker

Retired Judge Menachem Neeman, formerly Vice President of the Haifa District Court, blessed the balance created in the Supreme Court as a result of the four new appointments, but emphasized that no great "revolution" is underway in the legal system.

"You can't say that a judge appointed to the Supreme Court all of a sudden stops having all the thoughts and opinions he had before being appointed, but [the new appointments are], indeed, a positive influence because balance has been created. Such that we have here a good choice, not a revolution," Neeman told Arutz Sheva.

He noted that in the past, judges had been appointed to the Court with certain expectations placed upon them, but had acted differently on the Supreme Court bench than had been expected . "You can't foresee what every judge will decide based on his past, but that doesn't mean that his worldview does not find expression in his rulings."

"For example, the Attorney General Mandelblit, everybody knew that he was the big expert on international law, so nobody expected that, as Attorney General, he would change everything he knew about international law because of the Regulation Law."

Judge Neeman explained that the struggle for judicial activism spearheaded by former Supreme Court Justice Aharon Barak had difficult consequences. "You can't cancel that principle and turn the steering-wheel back, you can't cancel the idea established in the Law of Human Dignity and Freedom which gives the Supreme Court the ability to cancel laws made by the Knesset but, on the other hand, I believe that it will come to be employed less."

"We need to understand that we can't turn back the wheel, and that what was established beforehand by the High Court judges is hard to cancel completely. But I assess that the possibility that they will cancel future laws of the Knesset will be less likely and will become a rare event," he added.

On the conservative identity of the new judges, Neeman said: "the judges come with the view that judicial activism needs to be constricted. I know Yael Vilner well - she was in my [lineup of judges] and she is an excellent choice. Judge Elron was also in my lineup - a very efficient judge. I can't say for sure that they will be against judicial activism, but they will agree that it must be used sparingly."

3. 'ISRAELI MELANIA' MAKES IT BIG IN US
by David Rosenberg

An Israeli actress working in the United States has found that last year's election of Donald Trump has been a windfall for her career.

Mira Tzur, a 45-year old dancer turned actress, was recently discovered by John Di Domenico, a professional Donald Trump impersonator, who was looking to include the new First Lady in his act.

Tzur's resemblance to Melania Trump made her a natural choice for the gig, and at just a year shy of the First Lady's age – 46 – with an Israeli accent standing in for Melania's Slovenian, Tzur has found steady work in advertisements and public appearances.

According to Forward, Tzur now earns $3,000 per appearance.

Born in Tel Aviv, Tzur was raised in Herzliya and first began her entertainment career in dance, performing with the Bat Sheva Dance Company.

4. UN BLASTS AZARIYA SENTENCE
by Nitzan Keidar

A representative of the UN Human Rights Council heavily criticized the sentencing of soldier Elor Azariya this week.

Azariya, who was convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded terrorist, was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

According to the representative, the sentence imposed on Azariya was "too light."

"It's very worrying that a soldier was punished like this after killing without a trial a wounded Palestinian."

Of note is the fact that the international community, aside from the PA, barely displayed official reactions to the sentence.

Political officials hinted to Arutz Sheva the possibility that the Palestinians, together with countries supporting them in the UN, applied pressure on the UN representative to make the statement, which was only several lines long.

5. TERRIFYING MOMENT: PLANE'S LANDING GEAR COLLAPSES
by Arutz Sheva Staff

[youtube:2025077]

Stormy weather caused the cancellation of dozens of flights at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, as well as a near-disaster.

A passenger plane collapsed when its landing gear broke as it touched down at the Schiphol Airport Thursday afternoon. The terrifying scene was caught on camera.

Miraculously, none of the plane's 59 passengers were hurt, and all were evacuated to the airport terminal.

Schiphol Airport tweeted: "The landing gear of a Flybe airplane collapsed during touchdown. No people are injured. Flight operation is up and running again."

6. 'NEW SUPREME COURT JUDGE BIASED AGAINST MEN'
by Gil Ronen

Dr. Yoav Mazeh, the head of the Family, Equality & Law Research Institute at Ono Academic College, expressed concern about the appointment of Justice Yael Willner to the Supreme Court.

Dr. Mazeh said in an interview with Arutz Sheva that Justice Wilner, who is one of four new judges who were appointed to the Supreme Court this week, has a radical feminist and anti-male agenda.

"There are judges who, when their rulings are checked consistently, evidence a very pronounced and serious bias. [These are] judges who ignore the circumstances, the facts, what is relevant to the specific case, and act in accordance with an agenda. Judge Yael Willner is, in my opinion, a judge with a very clear agenda - an agenda that I would say is pro-female and anti-male," he said.

"Her rulings until now indicate that she sees the involvement of fathers in raising children as something negative. She tries to attack every opportunity [the father] has to come to [his child's] doorstep. With regard to alimony, she [forces fathers] to pay a very large and unreasonable amount, and in fact punishes fathers who are involved in raising their children," Dr. Mazeh continued.

According to Dr. Mazeh, Justice Willner stated that the father must pay nearly the full child support even if there is joint custody and even if the mother's salary is higher than his salary. "In her famous judgment in 2006, she established that in cases of joint custody for the father - a father who is involved, who leaves work early to care for the children, he should pay more in child support than a father who is a complete stranger to his children and who focuses on his career."

He added that she had repeated her anti-father ruling several times over the years.

"In my estimation, she is one of those judges who takes a one-sided approach: whose worldview is against the involvement of fathers in the family and against equality between men and women. In their eyes, men are always bad, and so they will be punished harshly, while some mothers who have committed abuse are treated leniently and are given lighter punishments. This is my prediction for the conduct of Justice Willner."

7. OP-ED: IDF ADMITS TO REDUCING STANDARDS
by Gil Ronen

A recent briefing to military reporters revealed that between 2015-16 the number of female combat infantry soldiers increased by 350%.

It was also reported that the "Eilat Company" is currently "gendered" - that is, it has only females - and soon, the entire "Eitam" Combat Intelligence battalion will be "gendered" also (it is unclear, by the way, why girls-only battalions are "gendered", while all-male battalions are chauvinist, but let's leave that).

How did this happen? The IDF now unabashedly admits lowering battalion standards in order to include more girls: A senior officer at Army Headquarters was quoted as saying that "unlike the American conception that has identical screening and vetting procedures for male and female candidates, we decided to make adjustments to enable many more female fighters relative to the numbers in the US army."

It was also revealed in a briefing to reporters at Army Headquarters this week the establishment of a new border protection system to be based almost entirely on women. The grouping incorporates the four light infantry battalions (Carcal, Lions of the Jordan, Bardelas, and the new Battalion 47), Combat Intelligence, Homeland Defense, Division Headquarters, and more. The grouping was established at the conclusion of staff work that took about a year-and-a-half, during which "the IDF tried to make adjustments and improvements in female infantry soldier's service."

"For example, the comparative analysis between female and male infantry trainee companies showed a fourfold increase in the need for medical attention among the mixed-gender companies." What conclusion is drawn from this exciting discovery? The reports do not tell us, but we can guess between the lines - and based on previous IDF statements on the topic - the conclusion is not that girls are unsuited to engage in combat, but that a much more significant investment must be made in medical accompaniment for girl's brigades.

Invitation to Sinawar

The briefing report provides the enemy with another significant informational tidbit: It was decided to stop carrying heavy machine guns and MAGs on male and female soldier's backs, and to mount such guns on routine service vehicles only. That is to say, foot patrols have apparently become much less deadly. Good to know.

The new grouping is not expected in coming years to fulfill the main routine service tasks, which will continue to be performed by the usual regiments. However, "the goal is already in 2018 to send the four light infantry battalions into operational activity also in Judea and Samaria, as well as the mixed-gender Homeland Security Brigades," the enlightened officer revealed. "Today, 4 of these battalions have operational plans to fight even in enemy territory and near the border."

What does Yihya Sinuar, or the Salafi unit commander in Sinai understand from all this? That the IDF is progressive? No. He understands that our army is stupid, and is sending girls closer and closer to Hamas and ISIS terrorist strongholds.

8. SUSPECT USED YOUNG SON TO HELP CARRY OUT THEFTS
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Border police arrested a resident of Netanya on suspicion that he used his 9-year-old son to carry out thefts for him.

The suspect, a man in his 40s, came to the living quarters of foreign workers in a community under the jurisdiction of the Emek Hefer Regional Council, accompanied by his young son.

The suspect and his son also broke into the workers' premises and stole thousands of dollars, a laptop, an iPad, and many other items which belonged to the workers living there.

The police were able to locate the suspect and arrest him thanks to a quick analysis of security footage of the break-in. He was still wearing the clothes seen in the film footage. It is believed that the suspect had used his son to commit other robberies, having found the use of his son to be a successful method of stealing.

Details of the affair were given to the child welfare authorities.

The police said that the involvement of the child made it a most serious case. "The solicitation of a minor to commit a felony is a serious criminal offense, and the police will act to ensure that the perpetrator is punished to the full extent of the law."

The task leader added: "It is unfortunate that a 9-year-old boy was raised and educated in the world of crime and delinquency. This could affect him negatively for life."
