1. GOVERNMENT REACHES AGREEMENT ON AMONA
by Uzi Baruch

During a special government meeting, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit approved moving Amona's residents a few meters away, using the absentee property solution.

Participating in the meeting were Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Jewish Home Ministers Ayelet Shaked and Naftali Bennett, and Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.

"The ball is in the residents' court," a government official said.

The area allocated for the relocated town of Amona will be expanded to tens of dunams (acres), which will allow the town to grow over time.

Details of the plan will be passed to the residents and only then aired on Israeli media.

If the residents approve the plan, the Israeli government will request from the Supreme Court to delay the destruction of Amona until the new solution can be implemented.

Government officials have expressed hope that Amona's residents will cooperate and allow the move to be carried out peacefully.

2. BOLTON TO OBAMA: DON'T SUPPORT ANTI-ISRAEL RESOLUTIONS
by Eliran Aharon

In an interview with Dr. Joseph Frager, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) and the OJC, former UN Ambassador John Bolton explained his policy regarding Israel, as well as his opinion on US President Barack Obama's policy on the subject.

Bolton described the US policy on "peace in the Middle East" as being "bipartisan" and requiring both sides to directly discuss a solution agreeable to both of them. He also said any attempt on the part of non-locals to force an agreement on the two sides would likely backfire, making peace less likely and more difficult to achieve.

"We've got a president here who sadly has the worst governmental to governmental relationship with the state of Israel since the modern state was created in 1948," Bolton said. "Right now we've got a president in the post election period before his term is up who faces no political consequences and who could well take steps that violate this 50 year bipartisan agreement that its not for the us or anyone to impose what the final peace terms will be between Israel and the other parties in the Middle East."

He also encouraged Obama to vote against the new anti-Israel resolutions being drafted in the UN, and not fall into the trap of abstaining or voting in favor.

"Voting for these resolutions...its something we urge the president not to undertake. There are those out there who want to destroy the state of Israel and harm American interest in the region... I take this to be a real and palpable danger, not one that's gotten the coverage it deserves," he continued. "We want to underline here today...[people from] various different perspectives fear this outcome. We want to alert people to the threat that we're facing, and urge everybody who values the only functioning democracy in the middle east, who values the US Israel relationship, who values the importance of peace and security in that critical region of the world, to let the president know we want him to uphold fifty years of bipartisan foreign policy and not deviate from it in the closing days of his presidency."

3. CHILD DIED YESTERDAY AFTER FALL - AND IS ALREADY SAVING LIVES
by Uzi Baruch

Ilai Nir died on Sunday, days after a tragic fall from a canyon that earlier claimed the life of his father. By Monday, however, he had already posthumously helped save several lives.

During a fateful hike around Tze'elim Canyon in the Judean Desert on Friday, Ilai fell off the side of a cliff. As his desperate father, Dr. Omri Nir, attempted to rescue Ilai, Omri too slipped and fell. He died shortly thereafter, while Ilai was rushed to Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva.

Ilai's condition was critical, and over the weekend he continued to deteriorate, passing away Sunday afternoon.

But out of Ilai's tragic death has come renewed life for a number of patients suffering from chronic illness, including several small children.

One, an 8-year old boy, suffered from a congenital heart problem. Due to the severity of his condition, an immediate heart transplant was necessary to save his life. He is currently in stable condition in Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva, recovering from the transplant operation.

Another child, a four-year-old girl from southern Israel, received a liver transplant from Ilai. A 55-year old woman received Ilai's lungs.

In addition, both of Ilai's kidneys were removed, and will be transplanted to a patient suffering from renal failure.

4. HOSPITAL TRANSFERS RABBI STEINSALTZ TO REGULAR WARD
by Uzi Baruch

Jerusalem's Shaarei Zedek Hospital announced on Monday an improvement in Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz's condition.

Rabbi Steinsaltz has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a regular ward.

Rabbi Steinsaltz suffered a stroke last week, and was transferred to Shaarei Zedek Hospital, where he underwent successful surgery to remove a blood clot. He is breathing on his own and is responsive to his surroundings.

The public is asked to continue praying for the recovery of Adin ben Rivka Leah and to respect the family's privacy.

6. ISRAELI JAIL BECOMES WAR ROOM FOR TERROR
by Shlomo Pyutrikovsky

Jerusalem's Hashalom Youth Court has filed an indictment against eight Arab youths, accusing them of using their time in jail to organize terror attacks.

The youths are being charged with attacking a police officer, conspiracy, and disrupting the peace, as well as several other crimes.

The eight youths, who are 17-18 years old, are all from the Sur Baher and Al-Issawiya neighborhoods of Jerusalem and spent time in the Megiddo Prison between March 2015 and May 2015.

During their time in the prison, they became friends and began planning future terror attacks to be carried out after their release. The planned attacks included throwing Molotov cocktails and boulders at civilians and security forces.

They also met in the prison library to discuss funding for their planned attacks. One of the youths suggested they save the money they would receive from the Palestinian Prisoners of Israel Club after their release and use it to buy weapons, as well as special shirts for their eight-man cell. This plan was accepted by the other cell members.

The youths also participated in disruption of the peace on the Temple Mount, and used Facebook to encourage others to carry out terror attacks and other acts of violence against Jews.

The arrest warrants of four of the youths note that they are being charged with endangering the lives of others on roads and severely injuring other people, as well as other severe crimes such as throwing boulders at civilians near the entrance to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Armon HaNetziv during November 2013.

As a result of their boulder attack, a two-year-old girl was injured. The youths were then sentenced to 22 months in prison, as well as a probational period.

The Jerusalem District Attorney's office has requested the police arrest the youths until all legal proceedings against them have been completed successfully.

7. 'THE NEXT TIME I DIE, BURY ME IN JERUSALEM'

On Monday morning September 5th, while the rest of the country enjoyed a slow start to Labor Day, Isaac Leider and the VitalOne crew arrived bright and early at 5 Rita Avenue in Monsey, New York ready to begin a labor of love: an air medical transport everyone else had deemed impossible.

A chance encounter in Evergreen Kosher Market was the catalyst for this amazing journey; provided at a reduced rate and with a dedicated, volunteer crew.

Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Lebowitz, a 73-year-old Holocaust survivor, has a long history of medical complications and respiratory problems. On a ventilator, when he was not inpatient at area hospitals, he often required the professional expertise of David Zidile, Respiratory Therapist. Having come close to death numerous times, Rabbi Lebowitz often quipped; "The next time I die, I want to be buried on Har Hamenuchos."

The idea took root, and before long, Rabbi Lebowitz became determined to make Aliyah, "while I am still breathing."

"For the longest time, I just thought of his wish as the whim of an older man; an impossible and unattainable dream", shares his daughter and care coordinator, Gitty Kalikstein. "We all knew he was much too sick to make the trip; and his doctors confirmed it. Some even told us that the flight would kill him!"

The wish took an unexpected turn towards reality when Mrs. Lebowitz met David Zidile, who inquired after his patient's health. "It's the craziest thing," Mrs. Lebowitz responded. "Moshe Yehuda wants to move to Israel, even though it's impossible for him to travel."

David, who is the Flight Paramedic for VitalOne answered, "Of course it's possible. I'll call my boss, Isaac Leider."

And so the stage was set for an incredible air medical transport. While Isaac consulted with doctors both in the New York and Israel to arrange the myriad medical details, Nefesh B'Nefesh was contacted to initiate the Aliyah process. The Lebowitz family is not just any family; after raising 8 children of their own, they adopted four children with special needs, ranging in age from 15 to 28. Complex arrangements needed to be made for their ongoing care and comfort in Israel as well.

With a bracha from Horav Chaim Kanievsky shlita encouraging their efforts, the Lebowitz family spent the next several months taking care of the hundreds of logistical details involved. Once the Aliyah was approved, VitalOne took over. The beside to bedside trip was anything but simple. Rabbi Lebowitz's vitals had to be constantly monitored. Once on the plane, between the VitalOne medical team, the medications and the sophisticated medical equipment, the entire first class section of the El Al Boeing 747 was turned into an airborne hospital room.

Gitty is still amazed at how smoothly the transport went. "The ambulance came to my parents' home and carefully transferred my father to the airport where I met them with 10 carry-ons filled with medication. Isaac was there orchestrating every step. The crew took us though the TSA check points, and from there we went to the King David lounge. As soon as we were ready to board, we were escorted directly to the EL AL plane where the lead flight attendant, Ian, was waiting to greet us. Between the complete attention of the VitalOne crew, the entire fist class cabin prepared just for us, the incredible array of Glatt kosher food and the very gracious steward Iyon who tended to our every need, you would have thought we were visiting dignitaries!"

"I felt so comfortable that the VitalOne crew would be able to handle anything that might come up, I actually ate a delicious meal of grilled chicken and quinoa and took advantage of the Tempur-Pedic mattress to get some sleep!"

With the intense preparation and professional expertise of the VitalOne crew including Dr. Avi Factor, Medical Director/ Flight Physician, David Zidile, Flight Paramedic and Respiratory Therapist and Raanan Zidile, Flight Paramedic, the flight turned out to be uneventful. "Though we are ready for anything, our goal is to be proactive rather than reactive and prevent any mid-flight medical crisis through close monitoring of vitals and constant supervision," explains Dr. Avi Factor, Medical Director and Flight Physician.

As soon as the El Al flight touched down in Ben Gurion airport at 5:45 am, Rabbi Lebowitz was whisked into a United Hatzalah ambulance waiting on the tarmac, for the short ride to the Beit Rivka Geriatric Rehabilitation Hospital in Petah Tikva, the VitalOne crew at his side. At 7:32 am, a mere 19 hours after the transport began, Rabbi Lebowitz was transferred to the care of Dr. Gregory Papirov, the accepting physician.

"My father is gloriously happy," shares Gitty. "With G-d's help he will soon be living in a brand new apartment in Jerusalem overlooking Geulah. Isaac is a magician who can arrange anything. In his quiet and unassuming way, he accomplishes the impossible. Between him, David, Raanan, Avi Factor and the amazing crew, VitalOne made my father's dream come true and we are all forever grateful."

8. 'PA IS SENDING DELEGATION TO PRESSURE OBAMA'
by Chana Roberts

In an interview with Dr. Joseph Frager, Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton Klein explains why he is concerned about US President Barack Obama's potential to make dangerous and irrevocable decisions concerning the Palestinian Authority, Israel, and BDS.

"I'm deeply distressed that none of the major Jewish organizations has taken a public stand on this, is making a serious noise about this extraordinary danger. They're nowhere to be heard from. We have a delegation coming from the Palestinian Authority to meet with Obama, to meet with Kerry, to try to promote establishing unilaterally a Palestinian terrorist state, a Hamas-Iran terrorist state, and to declare the Jews who live in Judea and Samaria and eastern Jerusalem illegal. Which means immediately that would make BDS legal. Because if these people are living there illegally, then you can boycott them because they're not there under international law," Klein explained.

"My colleagues in the organizational world, they told me not to worry, its not going to happen, when in fact there's all sorts of indications it will. This is all orchestrated, it's not something that happens at will. When Samantha Power, the ambassador to the UN and John Kerry was [sic] asked, 'Will you veto these types of resolutions?' they refused to answer. That's what you need to know," he concluded.

[youtube:2021946]

Explaining his own concerns, Frager said, "We are concerned, very concerned, that he [Obama] is going to do something that is a unilateral move against Israel. The reason we believe that - it's not only I, [many others have] all written about this - we're concerned that he is so focused on creating a PLO state that he will go to any lengths. We're concerned he's being pushed by people to do something no other president has ever done in the waiting days of his tenure."

When asked if he thought Obama was trying to get revenge on Israel, Frager said, "I don't want to call it revenge, but I would say he's so frustrated... We're concerned that he's going to make a rash move, to do something that he should not do, to do something no other president of the US has done. We may have a great deal of fear and it may be unfounded, but my feeling is that we are very concerned, there's enough indications, enough smart people have raised this issue and I believe if they're raising this issue then there is a concern."

In Frager's opinion, Obama should "let the Trump administration come in and do what they have to do with Israel. The president has had his opportunities and it hasn't happened...but he's had his opportunities. You can't pull something out of the hat at the last moment and think it's going to work. It's not going to work.

"The whole Democratic party could also be affected...You have a lot of friends of Israel in the Democratic party. You make a rash decision...you're affecting a lot of good Democrats who support Israel tremendously would not agree with this [sic], and would want a negotiated peace...

"I feel [the next presidency] it's going to be much better for Israel than ever before, I feel that President-elect Trump has a lot of great instincts and a lot of intimate details on Israel. In terms of Israel, he's well aware of all the difficulties...I think he's going to deal with them in a fashion that Israel can certainly feel more at ease and with a warmer alliance a warmer relationship with America."
