1. REPORT: ISIS HEAD KILLED IN BOMBING
by Matt Wanderman

The US-led coalition against ISIS has reportedly killed the terror group's leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The Mirror reports that a news agency linked to ISIS released a statement noting: "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed by coalition air strikes on Raqqa on the fifth day of Ramadan." Raqqa is located in Syria.

Last week, an Iraqi TV station shared claims that Baghdadi had been wounded in a bombing.

Colon Chris Garver, a spokesperson for the international coalition, acknowledged that he had heard rumors of Baghdadi's death, but he has "nothing to confirm this at this time".

Baghdadi built up a strong reputation for secrecy. There are few known pictures of him and rumors regularly circulate regarding his whereabouts.

2. REPORT: FLORIDA SHOOTER FREQUENTED GAY CLUB
by Matt Wanderman

Acquaintances say that Omar Mateen, the terrorist who murdered 49 people in a Florida LGBT club, was himself not straight.

Ty Smith, a regular at the club, spoke with the Orlando Sentinel about seeing Mateen at least a dozen times. "Sometimes he would go over in the corner and sit and drink by himself, and other times he would get so drunk he was loud and belligerent.

"We didn't really talk to him a lot, but I remember him saying things about his dad at times," Smith added. "He told us he had a wife and child."

Others from the area say that Mateen frequently used Grindr and other apps designed to connect people for romantic or other encounters. One told the Los Angeles Times that he and Mateen used such an app to message each other for a year.

Mateen's father claimed that the shooting was in response to his son's anger over seen two men kissing several months ago.

Omar himself called police during the attack and told them that he was with ISIS. The terror group happily claimed credit for the attack in the aftermath.

3. 'SPIT ON YOU AND YOUR HONOR' FOR CARING ABOUT ISRAELI VICTIMS
by Matt Wanderman

The phenomenon of Arab, particularly Palestinian, public figures refusing to condemn terror attacks against Israelis is nothing new, but the experiences of those who do speak out suggests that the problem runs far deeper than just politicians.

Ynet notes that a number of Arab journalists faced strong backlash for merely saying that shooting innocent civilians in cold blood is immoral. Even when they couch their remarks in apologetic language or suggested that it would be fine to murder different Jewish civilians, they were accused of betrayal.

Bothaina Kamal from Egypt posted a message on Twitter following last week's attack in Tel Aviv, asking, "What kind of heroism is it when you go into a restaurant and murder the diners inside?" She was soon inundated with people claiming that such acts are indeed heroic, because the targets are Israelis.

Kamal then modified her approach to say that she is fine with targeting "settlers" (presumably attacks such as the murder of Dafna Meir). Even this wasn't good enough for many of her followers, one of whom wrote: "All of the Jews in the land of Palestine are occupiers and settlers. (Even) if you give up Tel Aviv, the Palestinians will stick to it."

A journalist with the London-based al-Araby al-Jadeed paper wrote: "Bothaina condemns the attack in Tel Aviv, shares in Avichay Adraee's (the Arab-language spokesperson for the IDF) grief, and wishes her Arab neighbors a satisfying fast and enjoyable fast-breaking meal," implying that demonizing Israelis is an inherent aspect of being Arab.

Similarly, a Saudi Arabian journalist and analyst named Daham al-Enazi tried to argue that someone can support the Palestinians without encouraging terror. "The action in Tel Aviv is terrorism and barbarity. Our empathy with the Palestinians doesn't mean that we agree to murder civilians and innocents. Our condolences go out to the victims' families."

His call for reason and empathy also met with blind anger, particularly from Palestinians. "(Spit) on you and your honor, you dog," one person replied.

Even calling someone who was shot dead while trying to enjoy their dinner a "victim" was enough to draw venom, as the Saudi network al-Arabiya learned. Commenters sarcastically claimed that the network should have "prayed for the souls of those killed in Tel Aviv," as though there is something wrong with doing so. Another declared, "How loathsome they are… they don't even have a minimum amount of Arab-ness (in them)."

4. PALESTINIANS FURIOUS OVER ISRAEL HEADING UN COMMITTEE
by Nitsan Keider

Palestinians are furious over Israel's rare achievement of being chosen to head a United Nations committee.

Palestinian ambassador to the UN Riyad Mansour held a press conference on Monday night, in which he claimed that "The Arab countries tried to prevent the Israeli representative's election, because it does not sound reasonable that a country in violation of the law should head a legal committee.

"Israel's stance is becoming more extreme every day, and it is turning its back towards any peace initiatives. Its goal is to expand the settlements and to provoke the international community," he added.

After numerous months of behind-the-scenes diplomatic struggles, Israeli ambassador to the UN Danny Danon was chosen to head the United Nation's legal committee, which deals with sensitive issues such as the global war on terror.

This is an historic achievement and the first time Israel has headed a permanent UN committee since joining the organization in 1949.

The Judiciary Committee (also known as the Sixth Committee), focuses on the most sensitive international legal issues that arise, including the Geneva Convention's supplementary agreements and international terror. One of the first topics Danon will have to deal with is an effort to formulate an international convention to fight terror.

5. TRUMP: SOMETIMES OBAMA SUPPORTS MUSLIMS MORE THAN ISRAEL
by Ben Ariel

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Monday that President Barack Obama sometimes "seems more in support of Muslims than Israel".

"For example the Iran deal, which was one of the worst deals in history, gave $150 billion dollars to a radical regime, which will allow them to fund terrorist activities as well as pursue their stated goal of 'full annihilation and destruction' of Israel. It is great for Iran and bad for Israel and the United States," he told Bloomberg Politics in a statement sent by his spokeswoman Hope Hicks.

The statement to Bloomberg came in response to a question about what Trump meant by quotes earlier on Monday suggesting that Obama identified with radicalized Muslims who have carried out terrorist attacks in the United States and being complicit in the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando over the weekend.

"Look, we're led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he's got something else in mind," Trump told Fox News and quoted by The Washington Post.

"And the something else in mind — you know, people can't believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can't even mention the words 'radical Islamic terrorism.' There's something going on. It's inconceivable. There's something going on," he continued.

Trump was asked to explain why he called for Obama to resign in light of the shooting and he answered, in part, "He doesn't get it or he gets it better than anybody understands — it's one or the other, and either one is unacceptable."

During an appearance on the "Today" show later Monday morning, Savannah Guthrie pushed Trump to explain what he meant in the earlier interview.

"Well there are a lot of people that think maybe he doesn't want to get it," Trump said, according to The Washington Post. "A lot of people think maybe he doesn't want to know about it. I happen to think that he just doesn't know what he's doing, but there are many people that think maybe he doesn't want to get it. He doesn't want to see what's really happening. And that could be."

Guthrie asked Trump why that would be, and the presumptive Republican presidential nominee responded, "Because Savannah, Savannah, why isn't he addressing the issue? He's not addressing the issue. He's not calling it what it is. This is radical Islamic terrorism. This isn't fighting Germany; this isn't fighting Japan, where they wear uniforms."

Trump has criticized Obama for his failure to identify radical Islamic terrorism as the culprit for the Orlando shooting. The attack was carried out by American-Muslim terrorist Omar Mateen, who according to reports pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group.

While Obama has acknowledged that has the deadly shooting was an "act of terror," he did not identify ISIS as the culprit.

"We know enough to say this was an act of terror and an act of hate," Obama said in a statement from the White House briefing room hours after the shooting on Sunday. "The FBI is appropriately investigating this as an act of terror. We will go wherever the facts lead us ... What is clear is he was a person filled with hatred."

6. ISLAMIST STABS POLICEMAN TO DEATH IN PARIS SUBURB
by Ben Ariel

A man who claimed allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) group late Monday night stabbed a French policeman to death before being killed, The Guardian reports.

The man's wife was also found dead when police stormed the house, and a three-year-old boy was rescued alive. The attack took place in the Paris suburb of Magnanville and was apparently carried out by a neighbor of the family, the newspaper reported.

Witnesses told investigators the attacker may have shouted "Allahu akbar" (God is greatest in Arabic) as he stabbed the policeman repeatedly outside his home before holding the woman and the boy inside. The child was described in reports as the couple's son.

The police officer who died was named in the French media as 42-year-old Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, described as an assistant chief in the nearby district of Les Mureaux.

Meanwhile, a news agency linked to ISIS later reported that one of the group's fighters was behind the stabbing, AFP reported.

The SITE Intelligence Group, based just outside Washington, cited the Amaq News Agency as saying, "Islamic State fighter kills deputy chief of the police station in the city of Les Mureaux and his wife with blade weapons near #Paris."

Officers found the woman's body when they stormed the building and the attacker was killed during the assault, said interior ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said, according to The Guardian.

The boy was "in shock but unharmed" and receiving medical attention, a prosecutor added.

French president Francois Hollande said Monday night a meeting would be held at the presidential palace on Tuesday morning and declared that "all light will be shed" on the case.

"Light will be shed on the circumstances of this abominable drama whose investigation, under the authority of justice, will determine the exact nature," Hollande said in a statement.

The shooting follows the killing spree at an Orlando nightclub, in which 50 people were killed by a Muslim gunman.

That attack, too, was claimed by ISIS, though it is not yet known whether it had any operational links to the attacker.

7. FRENCH TERRORIST BROADCAST ATTACK LIVE ON FACEBOOK
by Uzi Baruch

The terrorist who murdered a French police officer Tuesday morning broadcast his attack live on Facebook.

During the broadcast, the murderer said that he does not know what to do with the three-year-old child after killing his parents. The terrorist's Facebook page has been taken down by the site.

The terrorist ambushed a police officer who was returning home and stabbed him numerous times with a knife. Afterwards, he broke into the home and took the wife and child hostage.

Following a short attempt at negotiating, members of the anti-terror unit burst into the apartment and shot the terrorist dead. The wife's body and the still-living son were inside.

Before being killed, the terrorist declared his loyalty to ISIS.

President François Hollande has called an emergency meeting in response to the incident.

JTA - A Fox Sports sideline reporter has been fired for making racist and anti-Semitic comments on a live Facebook broadcast Thursday.

In the broadcast Thursday on Barstool Sports' Facebook Live, Emily Austen, 27, said Jewish people are stingy and expressed surprise that a Mexican immigrant was a high school valedictorian, because, "I didn't even know Mexicans were that smart." She also made a stereotypical remark about Chinese-Americans.

Citing an unnamed source with the Tampa Bay Rays, which Austen covers, Business Insider reported Friday that Austen had been fired for the comments and will not appear on any future game broadcasts.

In a statement first published on Deadspin, Fox Sports Florida senior vice-president Steve Tello said:

We were made aware that Emily Austen appeared in a social media video unaffiliated with FOX Sports in which she made insensitive and derogatory comments. She was not speaking on behalf of FOX Sports, nor do we condone any of the statements she made in the video. Emily has been advised that her comments were unacceptable, and she is not scheduled to appear on any upcoming FOX Sports Florida or FOX Sports Sun broadcasts.

Austen's broadcast Thursday included a rant about Jewish customers at an establishment where she worked in Boca Raton, Florida: "The way I used to talk to the Jews in Boca. … I just didn't care. They would complain and b—- about everything. I gave a guy, delivered his beer, and he was complaining to me that there was too much head. I knew that he was a stingy a– and he wasn't going to give me a tip."
