1. 'I FEEL LIKE THE GOVERNMENT IS ABANDONING ME'
by Hezki Baruch

Nava Segev, a resident of Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, spoke with Arutz Sheva about the lawlessness and the pain of knowing that her children and grandchildren are afraid to visit.

Terrorists threw Molotov Cocktails at her home on Friday morning. No one was injured, though a window was damaged.

"I woke up and I thought that my neighbor spilled something. Suddenly I saw police at the door. Only then did I see the damage and I understood that my life had been saved," she said.

Segev explained that she would have been burned to death had the firebombs penetrated the home. "If what happened in Duma had happened to me, I and my home would have been completely burned," she said referring to the deadly firebombing at a Palestinian village in 2015.

This is the eighth time that Molotov cocktails were thrown at Segev's home. "I don't feel that the State of Israel is protecting me. My grandchildren and children visit my home. The Prime Minister talks about security, but where is the security?"

She doesn't intend to leave the neighborhood and acknowledges that it would be difficult to sell her home due to the attacks, even if the government began taking action. "How can I continue living here when I feel that the government is abandoning me? I am living here on borrowed time."

The Arabs who threw the projectiles have still not been caught, though the road to the nearby Jabel Mukaber neighborhood has been temporarily blocked by the police.

Authorities have since arrested four Arabs from Hevron who were illegally residing in Jerusalem.

2. TERRORISTS THROW MOLOTOV COCKTAIL IN ARMON HANATZIV
by Ido Ben-Porat

Arab terrorists threw four Molotov cocktails at a home in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Armon Hanatziv on Friday morning.

The projectiles exploded and set off a fire. One struck a window, while the rest landed in the yard. The house's window was lightly damaged.

The firebombs were thrown from al-Rabaya Street in Jabel Mukaber. Police and Border Police hurried to the scene and began an immediate investigation. They soon arrested four people, all Arabs from Hevron, on suspicion of carrying out the attack, as well as illegally residing in Jerusalem.

Authorities have decided to block traffic on the road to Rabaya and to thoroughly inspect passers-by. "The police expect that the local authorities will demonstrate responsibility and leadership, and that they will call for restoring the peace. As soon as the security situation is stabilized, police will ease their actions," read an official statement.

3. JEWISH PHILANTHROPIST DR. IRVING MOSKOWITZ PASSES AWAY
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Dr. Irving Moskowitz, one of American Jewry's leading philanthropists, has passed away aged 88.

A passionate and lifelong support of Israel, Moskowitz, together with his wife Cherna, founded and led the Moskowitz Foundation in 1968, which supported countless initiatives in Israel and across the Jewish world. The couple also founded the Moskowitz Prize for Zionism, which awards leading Jewish figures for their activism on the part of the Jewish state and its people.

Dr. Moskowitz was a particularly ardent supporter of Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, aiding countless projects to reclaim Jewish land stolen by Arabs during the early twentieth century.

He is survived by his wife, Cherna, eight children and more than 40 grandchildren.

Born to Jewish immigrants from Poland, more than 100 of his relatives perished during the Holocaust.

Irving, the ninth of thirteen siblings, grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he qualified as a doctor, and then moved to California to open a medical practice. After that, he moved to Miami Beach, Florida.

Apart from his immense support for the Jewish community and State of Israel, Irving Moskowitz founded several hospitals and donated generously to many humanitarian causes in the United States and elsewhere.

4. 'JERUSALEM GIANT, PILLAR HAS FALLEN, WENT STRAIGHT TO GAN EDEN'
by Daniel Luria

It is with great shock and extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Irving Moskowitz z"l to Gan Eden.

Irving's neshama-soul has gone to "Yerushalayim Shel Maaleh" (Jerusalem of the Heavens) and he will be in a place of honor for the righteous, next to The Throne of Glory.

Irving Moskowitz was a giant of this generation who has effectively secured a united Jerusalem for the Jewish People.
Known in many circles as the "Montefiore and Rothschild" of our times, he has redeemed, built and uplifted Jerusalem from the mounds of destruction and desolation.

Together with his wife Cherna (May she live till 120 years) they have revitalized Jewish life, in and around the Old City, by helping to establish Jewish neighborhoods, and returned Jewish life to the Holy Basin.

Irving Moskowitz has changed the face of Jerusalem for the good, and no one can stand in his footsteps, for his achievements have reached the Heavens.

Thousands of Yeshiva students,, children and families living in the Old City, Abu Tor, the City of David, Kfar HaTeimanim of Shiloach, Shimon HaTzaddik, Beit Orot, Maaleh HaZeitim, Kidmat Zion and Ganei Yitzchak are indebted and forever grateful to Irving Moskowitz z"l. The same people are now in mourning, as is Am Yisrael.

Ateret Cohanim has lost a pillar, a guardian and a truly modest benefactor and builder of Jerusalem. Jerusalem has lost one of "her" dearest of friends.

The Moskowitz Family has lost a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Our hearts and warm wishes go out to Cherna and the wider Moskowitz Family, and we hope that they will be comforted by Hashem, along with generations of mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim, and be comforted by Jerusalem herself.

Irving Moskowitz was an idealistic pioneer, who feared G-d only, and who built the eternal Jerusalem. He had the key to Jerusalem, and was in fact, part of the fabric of Jerusalem itself. His memory and legacy will be everlasting.

5. RISHON LEZIYON: MISSIONARIES TO HOLD CONVERSIONS OVER SHABBAT
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Hundreds of activists from the anti-assimilation groups Lehava and Yad L'achim will join Rishon Leziyon residents for a mass protest against a Christian missionary event this Shabbat.

On Saturday morning they will hold shacharit prayers in front of the municipal hall where the in which the missionaries are conducting a conversion ceremony.

Rishon Leziyon Mayor Dov Zur has opposed the ceremony, but a court ordered the municipality to allow it to take place in a culture hall.

Bentzi Gopstein, the head of Lehava, said that "the organization will join other good Jews and organizations to prevent the shame. When the time comes for God to ask us if we tried to prevent our brothers from converting, we will say that we did all we could and we did not allow Shabbat to tie our hands."

6. HUCKABEE: PRESIDENT TRUMP WOULD BE GREAT FOR ISRAEL
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas who took part in the Republican primaries, spoke to Israel's Army Radio in support of presidential candidate Donald Trump and his statements regarding Muslims.

Trump recently called for closing the United States' borders to Muslims and mocked those who condemned him for it.

"Right here in Israel, Muslims don't just get to come into Israel without some clearance," Huckabee said. "In fact, I am not sure that they are allowed to immigrate here at all. So it's not unusual — when everybody acts like 'Oh what Trump has said is so amazing,' it's not that amazing in Israel. You don't have open borders to Muslims here."

Huckabee strongly criticized Obama for refusing to draw a connection between the recent terror attack in a Florida nightclub and radical Islam. "The Obama government has not managed to deal with ISIS, because he doesn't understand that the problem is radical Islam. It seems like Obama is angrier at Republicans who attack him for this than about the attack itself.

"Trump will be the next president and he will defeat Hillary," Huckabee promised, insisting that a President Trump would be very good for the State of Israel.

7. LONDON: SHOMRIM SAVE PEER FROM MUGGING
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The London Shomrim stopped a thief from robbing a member of the House of Lords earlier this week.

The Jewish Chronicle reports that two youths riding bicycles attacked Lord Glasman, a Labour Party peer, near his Stoke Newington home.

Fortunately, several members of the Jewish neighborhood watch organization saw the incident and chased down the attempted muggers. They then held the suspects until police were able to take over.

"Thank you for your exemplary work, that you do every day and for what you did yesterday," said Lord Glasman. "You make all people in our community safer, even me. It is wonderful that you are there and wonderful to know you."

A spokesperson for the Stamford Hill Shomrim explained that "Shomrim volunteers followed and observed two males on pedal-bikes acting suspiciously on Wednesday evening at approximately 23:10. The suspects were seen cycling through Stamford Hill into Stoke Newington. One suspect mounted the pavement on Stoke Newington Church Street, and attempted to snatch a briefcase from an unsuspecting victim, luckily the victim managed to grab it back.

"Shomrim immediately alerted Police and continued to follow the two suspects. Upon Police arrival, the suspects made off from Police. Both suspects were caught and subsequently arrested by Police."

8. PRISONER OF ZION MENDELEVICH MARKS 46 YEARS SINCE ARREST
by Eliran Baruch

[youtube:2016288]

Rabbi Yosef Mendelevich is marking 46 years since he and a group of Jewish refuseniks were arrested at Leningrad Airport, on June 15, 1970, as they tried to hijack a Soviet plane to Israel. He was released 11 years later.

"I am celebrating a birthday," he said.

The famous "prisoner of Zion" spoke exuberantly to Arutz Sheva of the influence he and the other "prisoners of Zion" had on Jews worldwide and on Aliyah to Israel.

Remarking on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's visit to Moscow, he said that Russia has had to accept Israel's existence and to admit that Israel is a big power, and he credited the refuseniks' struggle with a role in this development, as well.

Russia has its own aspirations, he warned, however, and it could pose a danger for Israel, which needs to remain vigilant.
