1. TERRORIST MURDERED DAFNA MEIR - THEN WENT TO WATCH A MOVIE
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Prosecutors filed Monday morning in military court an indictment against the 16-year-old terrorist who brutally stabbed to death Dafna Meir in her home in Otniel.
It should be noted that the name of the terrorist has not been cleared for publication since he is a minor.
According to the indictment, the terrorist decided to carry out an attack against a Jew after having been inspired by incitement on Palestinian TV. Since the town of Otniel was in close proximity to his home, the teenage terrorist decided to stab a Jew there.
Upon arriving in the town, the terrorist saw Dafna Meir, a mother of six, and decided to stab her several times before fleeing.
The indictment revealed that once the terrorist returned home, he washed Meir's blood off his hands and sat down to watch a movie with his family.
After a two day search, the terrorist was captured by security forces.
2. ANTI-ISRAEL ADS PLASTERED ACROSS LONDON TRAINS
by Shoshana Miskin
Anti-Israel posters have been posted across London's tube network as the annual "Israel Apartheid Week" begins.
Posters bearing the title "Apartheid is Great Britain" claim that Israel used UK-made weapons to "massacre" Palestinians during Operation Protective Edge in which Israel fought the Hamas terror organization.
Other posters suggest that the BBC presents biased reports in favor of Israel - a claim many Israel supporters will find somewhat amusing, giving the BBC's coverage of the current wave of terrorism - while others target the security company G4S for "securing Israeli apartheid" and doing "whatever it takes to secure profits" as they operate some prisons in Israel.
Images on social media suggested the posters were part of a campaign by activists, and not thought to have been endorsed in any way by London Underground or Transport for London.
The Brighton Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS) posted numerous tweets saying: "Over 500 London tube trains plastered with posters for the 4 million passengers to read tomorrow #Israelapartheidweek", as well as: "Big shout out to London activists who've been busy for #Israelapartheidweek."
Some of the ads erected on Sunday did not last long as London commuters have already torn down various "apartheid" posters.
One British pro-Israel activist, who asked not to be named, told Arutz Sheva that according to both what he had seen and other commuters' testimonies, most of the posters had been taken down, probably by members of the public.

3. ERLAU REBBE PASSES AWAY
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The Rebbe of Erlau, Rabbi Yochanan Sofer, passed away in the early hours of Monday morning at age 93 following severe pneumonia that caused a deterioration of his health.
Rabbi Sofer, who is known as the "Elder of the Admorim", was a fifth generation descendant of the "Chasam Sofer" (Rabbi Moses Sofer).
After surviving the Holocaust decimated the Erlau hassidic sect, he continued the Erlau legacy by founding a yeshiva and a movement in their name in Israel. During his lifetime, he established synagogues, yeshivas, and many educational institutions throughout the country. His sons and grandsons served as community rabbis and chassidic chiefs all over Israel.
The Rebbe of Erlau was hospitalized several times in recent years due to his age and increased exhaustion.
A few years ago, while he was in Switzerland, he suffered a stroke and was admitted to a local hospital. After he recovered and was discharged, he was flown back to Israel.
Two weeks ago, The Rabbi was hospitalized due to an acute case of pneumonia. A few days after being sent home, he was admitted again due to the deterioration in his medical condition.
This morning, doctors fought for his life until he passed away, surrounded by his sons and sons-in-law.
4. CLINTON: I'LL DEFEND ISRAEL BUT PUSH FOR 'TWO-STATE SOLUTION'
by Elad Benari
Former Secretary of State and current Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton believes both Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz "missed the mark" with their approach to the Israel-Palestinian Arab conflict.
Speaking Sunday to CNN, Clinton vowed to support Israel but also said she would insist on the "two-state solution", that is the formation of a Palestinian state, in order to bring an end to the conflict.
In the interview, Clinton was asked about Trump's and Cruz's comments last week. While Trump indicated he would be "sort of a neutral guy" on the Israeli-Palestinian issue, Cruz said, "I have no intention of being neutral" and stressed he would be standing by Israel.
"I think both of them missed the mark," she replied, stressing that "Israel is our partner, our ally. We have longstanding and important ties with Israelis going back to the formation of the state of Israel."
"I will defend and do everything I can to support Israel, particularly as the neighborhood around it seems to become more dangerous and difficult," declared Clinton, but also added, "I also believe the Palestinians deserve to have a state of their own. That's why I support a two-state solution. That's what I have worked on. That's what I tried to move forward when I was secretary, and holding three very intense conversations between the prime minister of Israel and the president of the Palestinian Authority."
"Those are not mutually exclusive," she continued. "I happen to think that moving toward a two-state solution, trying to provide more support for the aspirations of the Palestinian people is in the long-term best interests of Israel, as well as the region, and, of course, the people themselves."
Clinton has in the past said that the "two state solution" is the only resolution for the decades old conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
Her comments come even as senior officials in the Obama administration have admitted that reaching the two-state solution at the present time is unlikely. German Chancellor Angela Merkel last week made similar comments.
Despite Clinton's pro-Israel comments in the interview, e-mails that have been released as part of the investigation into her use of a private address during her time as Secretary of State have revealed the opposite.
In one e-mail she referred to Israelis as "always cocky"; in another e-mail, dated 2011, she mulled a plan by a senior aide to stir up Palestinian unrest in order to pressure Israel to restart peace talks with the PA.
5. COMPANIES ARE GETTING RICH AT THE EXPENSE OF HAREDI WOMEN
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The Knesset held a special discussion on Sunday regarding the meager wages and discriminatory treatment of employed haredi women as compared to other non-haredi workers.
This discussion came following extensive research done on the topic which caused MK Uri Maklev (United Torah Judaism) to submit an urgent request to the Minister of Economy, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, in which he wondered why Netanyahu does not intervene.
"Wage disparities among haredi women exist in many areas, and are especially prominent in the high-tech industry where workers in Herzliya earn twice as much as workers employed in haredi cities in spite of [the haredi women] having the same level of education, experience, and a strong work ethic, and a similar level of dedication and excellence by any measure," said MK Maklev.
He continued, "There are companies established for the sole purpose of getting rich at the expense of haredi women, who are employed at low wages, and all under the guise of allowing them the ability to work in a suitable environment for optimized productivity. But in reality they discriminate and exploit these workers. The current situation is only getting worse and we must eradicate it as soon as possible."
In response to Maklev, MK Yariv Levin (Likud) replied on behalf of the Minister of Economy saying, "The rate of haredi women's employment has significantly increased in recent years; with that, we have encountered negative phenomena such as low wages, employment troubles, and more. The Ministry of Economy is working to improve employment conditions aimed at eradicating discrimination and safeguarding the rights of workers in general, including of course, those of haredi women."
"Haredi women's contribution to the Israeli economy is very welcome and this issue will certainly be addressed by the Ministry of Economy to handle any case where the attitude [to these workers] is not fitting and proper, as required," said Levin.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the Knesset plenum approved the transfer of an expanded discussion to the Knesset Finance Committee to take place soon.
6. FIRST NATIONS TRIBE BRINGS YOUTH TO ISRAEL FOR INSPIRATION
by Raphael Poch
Ron Evans aboriginal Chief and leader of the Norway House Cree Nation which hails from Northern Manitoba, believes that by exposing First Nations (aboriginal) youth to Israeli entrepreneurship it can help motivate them and enable them to succeed and achieve more in their own lives.
That's why Evans is running a First Nations' youth trip for members of his community to come to Israel and see how Israeli entrepreneurs operate. This is the third such trip he is making with local teens in five years.
Evans told the Canadian Jewish News that the Israeli experience - the indigenous Jewish nation's struggle to thrive against the odds after being dispossessed from its ancestral homeland - naturally resonates with Canada's First Nations.
"Our aim is to develop the next generation of First Nations leaders by looking through the lens of Israel's inspiring story," Evan explained. "Israel is first and foremost the land of the heritage of the Jewish People, who have achieved self-determination in a modern democracy and diverse state. Those of us from First Nations communities can appreciate the fascinating balance between modern and ancient that we see in Israel, and especially the sense of connection to the land of one's ancestors."
Evans also elaborated on the spiritual connection that his people feel as Christians, and the land in which Jesus lived. "We learn the stories of the Bible. Therefore, a visit to Israel will resonate more with my people than a trip to a theme park such as Disneyland."
The mission this year focuses on Israel as the "start-up nation."
"We want to see what we can learn from Israeli innovation," Evans elaborated. "Perhaps we will be able to forge some links that will benefit our community economically."
The trip will receive a briefing on Israel's high-tech sector, be introduced to new developments in medicinal agriculture and water technology, visit the Ahava factory, a hospitality staff training center in Herzliya, a 3D printing operation, and Kol HaOt, an international Jewish educational art program.
Evans said that while it was difficult to attract participants for his first trips due to security issues, following its wild success all following trips were far easier to get people to sign up to.
"There was a lot of fearmongering about war and violence. But that first trip was so successful that we didn't have any trouble getting together the second group. We had a full slate for this year, including Norway House author Brenda Fontaine, and other aboriginal community leaders are asking us how we organized the trip. We hope to make this mission to Israel an annual event."
The Norway House is a first Nations community that is comprised of 6,000 people and is located on the northern shore of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. It is 450 km (279 miles) north of the provincial capital of Winnipeg.
7. MK CREATES SOCIAL MEDIA FRACAS CLAIMING ISRAELIS CAME FROM EGYPT
by Raphael Poch
MK Stav Shaffir (Zionist Union) tweeted a response to Minister of Education Naftali Bennett's plan to celebrate Jerusalem in the coming educational year, in which she claimed the Jewish Home leader didn't know the history of the Bible.
"'From Jerusalem our history began' So said Bennett this morning. Excuse me for the pettiness, but it is worth the Minister of Education knowing that according to the Torah, we came here from Egypt."
Shaffir's tweet Screenshot
The tweet garnered an incredible amount of negative feedback online as followers of both Shaffir and Bennett posted the tweet on social media and took the Zionist Union MK to task for not knowing her own Bible, with almost no one excusing her pettiness.
Shaffir was referring to Bennett's comments from earlier in the day when he said "From Jerusalem our history began, and from it we draw our strength especially in these trying times."
Following a barrage of complaints and derisive comments, Shaffir removed the post and changed it to one that was somewhat more accurate:
"Bennett has decided to re-write the Bible to fit his own political needs. For his information: The Jewish people began at Mt. Sinai and not in Jerusalem."
Shaffir's second tweet Screenshot
But social media users were not so quick to forgive her initial tweet. Some of the responses Shaffir received included comments such as "It's a good thing you erased your embarrassing tweet about Egypt, but you should open a Bible, or would you rather we return Israel to the Jebusites?"
Other comments included: "This is who we have representing the nation? God help us." One commenter even went so far as to wish Bennett luck on educating Shaffir next year to teach her about the importance of Jerusalem. "Next year in Cairo rebuilt! Regardless of who is correct, Bennett you have your work cut out for you."
