1. PARIS LEADERS TO CALL ON NETANYAHU TO DISASSOCIATE FROM BENNETT
by Uzi Baruch
The State of Israel is preparing for a new diplomatic battle, this time in Paris. In less than a week the Paris International Conference will convene with participation of delegates from 70 countries but without Israel or the PA.
Participants at the conference will call on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to disassociate from Jewish Home leader Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) due to his opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state. The world leaders will call on Israel to endeavor to establish such a state in order to reach an agreement with the Palestinian Authority.
The leaders maintain that there is no possibility of implementing such a solution while Naftali Bennett is in the government and will therefore call on Netanyahu to separate from Bennett and join up with more moderate elements.
Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to arrive at the conference and give a speech in which he will stress once again the American vision of how to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during Obama's terms in office. Kerry made veiled references to Naftali Bennett three times in his last speech and claimed that he is the member of the Israeli government defying the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Bennett said at the time that "Kerry quoted me three times anonymously in his speech in order to demonstrate that we oppose a Palestinian state."
"So let me state it explicitly:"
"Yes. If it depends on me, we will not establish another terror state in the heart of our country. The citizens of Israel have paid with thousands of victims, tens of thousands of rockets and innumerable condemnations for the utopian idea of a Palestinian state. It's time for a new policy and we will lead the way."
Bennett also told the BBC that Kerry described Jerusalem as 'occupied territory'. Bennett responded that "one cannot occupy one's own land. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel for 3,000 years and no UN resolution will change that."
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas said at a Fatah council meeting that he hoped the Paris conference would lead to an end to the "Jewish settlement project in Judea and Samaria."
2. JUSTICE MINISTER SHAKED TOURED HEVRON, PROMISED TO BUILD
by Yoel Domb
Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) toured the city of Hevron Tuesday and expressed the hope that during Donald Trump's presidency the freeze would stop.
The minister toured the Cave of the Patriarchs, the Hezekiah quarter, the Jewish areas of the marketplace, the Avraham Avinu quarter, the Rachel and Leah house, the new archaeological excavations from the Second Temple period and the Tel Rumeida neighborhood.
The tour was intended to examine legal issues regarding the Jewish community in Hevron which have not been addressed for a long period.
Shaked said that "I am here at a time when the world chooses to condemn Israel for building. I have chosen to come and strengthen the Jewish community in Hevron. It is unthinkable that construction in Hevron has been stuck for so many years."

When Shaked reached the Cave of the Patriarchs, she stated that "This place is ours both by legal and historic right. Our forefather Abraham walked here and began to build a nation which taught the world what true morality means. Afterwards David, King of Israel established his monarchy here.
"Abraham bought the Cave with a valid legal document which was probably the first of its kind in the world. The Jews living in Hevron are the indigenous people returning to the houses of their mothers and fathers. One of the problems facing them is that due to the construction freeze they are getting older and there is no available residence for young couples. This is an untenable situation.
"I wish to say from this place that in ten days time all the excuses will be gone. We must build and build, develop Jerusalem as well as Judea and Samaria since it is our home. This is our right," emphasized the minister.

3. DERI TO REVOKE CITIZENSHIP OF TERRORIST'S FAMILY
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Interior Minister Aryeh Deri is expected to revoke the residency permit of the family of the terrorist who perpetrated the ramming attack at the Haas Promenade in which four Israelis were murdered, an IDF officer and three cadets.
In a Radio Kol Hai interview Deri said that "this is worse than Hamas terror attacks. This murderer was incited for months on social media. His brother and sisters new about it but didn't do anything."
In a Shas faction meeting at the Knesset yesterday, Deri asked MK Yoav Ben Tzur to promote legislation which would enable the revocation of residency without a disciplinary hearing. Deri himself initiated the law a number of months ago and now it will be submitted.
"It is unthinkable that Israelis should exploit their residency and citizenship to perpetrate terror attacks, kill Israeli citizens and act against the state. In the present situation the process of revoking citizenship is long and complicated and I intend to change this," said Deri.
Deri added that "[Former MK] Azmi Bishara is an absurd example of this policy. He acted against the state of Israel, ran away to Qatar and it was impossible to revoke his citizenship without him arriving in Israel for a disciplinary hearing. In the wake of attacks in the last few months we must strengthen our deterrence and this law will help attain this."
4. TRUMP NAMES SON-IN-LAW KUSHNER ADVISER TO THE PRESIDENT
by Gary Willig

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen son-in-law Jared Kushner as the Senior Adviser to the President, NBC News reported.
Kushner, who is an Orthodox Jew, is married to Trump's daughter, Ivanka. He served as a close adviser to the President-elect during the 2016 presidential election campaign. His family is known for its support of Jewish education.
There are legal questions surrounding Kushner's potential role in the upcoming Trump Administration. However, Kushner's lawyer stated that Kushner will not violate any nepotism laws.
"Mr. Kushner is committed to complying with federal ethics laws and we have been consulting with the Office of Government Ethics regarding the steps he would take," Kushner's lawyer told NBC News.
Kushner and his wife, Ivanka, are reportedly searching for a Synagogue to attend after moving to Washington DC to be close to Ivanka's father. There are two popular Orthodox Synagogues near the house they are moving into. The Obama family is nearby as well.
5. FROM ARAB STONETHROWER TO IDF
by Yoel Domb
Like most of the friends he grew up with, Mohammed used to throw stones at Border Policemen who patrolled his East Jerusalem village. He dreamed of perpetrating terror attacks and one day becoming a martyr. However today, after discovering that he is Jewish and meeting his Israeli grandmother, he has undergone an incredible metamorphosis and is fighting to join the same Border Police and protect Israel.
Mohammed's father, an East Jerusalem Arab, met his mother while working in Haifa as a construction worker in the early 90s. Later his father moved back to Jerusalem and took another wife. When he was five, his mother left the house and later died. "I searched for her all the time and asked where my mother was, and they said she had died and gone to G-d, " said Mohammed.
He knew that his mother was Jewish but didn't realize he himself was considered a Jew. "I grew up in a Muslim house speaking Arabic, I didn't know Hebrew. I prayed five times a day, fasted in Ramadan, did everything that Muslims should do. I studied in an Israeli-funded school where teachers taught us how to become terrorists. If there was an attack, teachers would tell us the next day how the terrorist was a martyr. It gave children the perception that this was what should be done. After school the Arab media transmitted the same message."
Mohammed was also influenced by this. His cousin committed a terror act and was considered by his peers to be a shahid, a martyr. Mohammed felt that he too wanted to be a martyr. At the age of 16 he took part in demonstrations against Israel, throwing stones at Border Policemen.
At 14 Mohammed left his house and went to live with his paternal grandfather, eventually working in construction. Then he met a Jewish person who put on Tefillin every day. One day the Jew came up to him and said he was happy to see that Mohammed respected him and did not disturb his prayers. Mohammed replied that because his mother was Jewish, he respects Jews. The man then told him that if his mother is Jewish, he himself is Jewish.
Mohammed dismissed this as a fabrication but after doing internet research, he discovered that he was registered as a Jew in the Interior Ministry. The Yad Le'Achim organization which helps Jews who wish to escape from Arab villages helped him to contact his grandmother. Two months ago he met her after a 15-year hiatus. "I hugged her and she began crying. She told me how her father had cut her off from seeing me and how he changed telephones so that she couldn't maintain contact."
Meanwhile Mohammed has changed his name to an Israeli name and is trying to join the IDF. "I wish to join the Border Police. After I fought them and threw stones at them as a kid, I want to be on the other side and protect my people. This job is made for me. I'm not scared. I know Arabic and am familiar with all the alleyways in the Old City."
Mohammed's family view him as a renegade and have even physically assaulted him. Yet this does not deter him. "They say I'm a dog and a collaborator with Jews, but I escaped from there to enlist and live as a Jew."
6. PROSECUTOR CLOSES INVESTIGATION OF FARMER WHO KILLED INTRUDER
by Yoel Domb
The Central District Prosecutor has decided to close the investigation regarding a resident of Beit Elazari near Rehovot who was suspected of shooting to death an intruder who was trying to steal his truck.
In August 2016 three burglars tried to steal the truck from the Beit Elazari farmer. According to evidence submitted to investigators, the farmer tried shouting to drive away the burglars but one of them raised an object and began advancing towards him.
The farmer then turned around to run back to his house but tripped and fell, hurting his hand. The farmer was worried that the burglar would attack him so he turned around and tried shooting in the air while doing so in order to deter the burglars. He shot a number of times and a bullet hit one of the burglars, killing him.
This was not the first time that legal proceedings have been attempted against farmers who had fended off thieves. In 2009 farmer Shai Dromi was acquitted of manslaughter after shooting and killing a Bedouin thief. In the wake of the Dromi case, Transportation Minister.Yisrael Katz, promulgated a law stating that all opposition by a person to someone who breaks into his home or property is considered self-defense. Katz, a former Agriculture Minister, lives in the agricultural Moshav Kfar Achim, near Kiryat Malachi, an area that has also been plagued by Bedouin thievery.
In October 2012 an Israeli farmer was killed in Moshav Avihayil by Arab burglars who murdered him during the course of a robbery.
