1. 'HOW TO SAVE AMONA? ANNEX IT!'
by Hillel Fendel
"There's a way to stop the domestic lawfare against Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria," writes media and international political analyst Dr. Aaron Lerner: "Annexation - as a last resort to save Jewish homes, vineyards and other property from court-ordered destruction."
Lerner, whose ideas are distributed regularly to decision-makers via the IMRA (Independent Media Review and Analysis) service, notes that Israel's Ordinance Law and Administration Law, 1948, states simply, in Clause 11B:
"The law, jurisdiction and administration of the State shall apply to any area of the Land of Israel that the Government sets in an order."
"Just one sentence long," Lerner writes, with "no wiggle room there." In addition: "Annexation does not require a legislative process. No Knesset involvement whatsoever. It can be carried out literally in moments, simply via telephone vote of the ministers."
And most importantly: "The most hyperactive Supreme Court possible would still be unable to come up with grounds to rule against the move," as the law grants full authorization to Israel's government to decide what and when to annex.
"There's no limit to 11B," Lerner writes, "and the Cabinet can even vote to annex a single lot in a community to save the house on it from the bulldozer."
He acknowledges that this is a "last resort," as stated above, "because "legislative and administrative efforts to address the challenge are liable to be foiled by Supreme Court decisions and a military legal system dominated by fervent opponents of a Jewish civilian presence beyond the Green Line."
Lerner says that this approach would stop in their tracks all attempts to destroy Jewish property in Judea and Samaria, since these would simply end in annexation of the areas.
And if the fear is "world reaction," he calls attention to the fact that the State Department already widely condemns and opposes Israeli construction plans in its capital city, so that more of the same regarding annexation is not something that would break us.
"Annexation is indeed a viable last resort to save Jewish homes, vineyard and other property from court ordered destruction," concludes Dr. Lerner.
2. DENMARK MAY BAN CIRCUMCISION UNDER THE AGE OF 18
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Will Danish Jews be able to perform a circumcision on their children? Not if the Danish Medical Association has its way. The heads of the Danish Medical Association are considering promoting legislation which will proscribe circumcision before the age of 18. At that point people will be allowed to make a decision about whether they wish to undergo the procedure.
Liza Muller, director of the Ethical committee in the Danish Medical Association said that "Circumcision must be an informed and personal decision which young people make for themselves. It is not right to deny a person the right to choose whether he wishes to undergo circumcision or not. The choice is part of an individual's right to self-determination and parents should not make the decision for him but rather should leave it to him to decide when he reaches the appropriate age."
Muller added that "Since circumcision is a dangerous procedure, it should be performed only when there is a medical necessity to perform it."
The heads of the Danish Medical Association announced that they are considering petitioning the local parliament to pass a law which would prevent performance of circumcision before 18 and only with the consent of the youth who wishes to undergo the procedure, but they have not decided whether the matter should be prohibited by law, as the issue has implications for religious people.
Circumcision is performed by the Jewish community residing it Denmark but it is a very small community. According to estimates 1000-2000 circumcisions are performed every year in Denmark. mainly in the Jewish and Muslim communities residing there.
The Danish Health Ministry announced that as of 2017 it would require all circumcisions performed in the country to be registered at the local health office in order to supervise them. A survey taken recently revealed that 87% of Danish residents favor banning circumcision by law.
3. DERECH HAIM MOVEMENT CAMPAIGNS AGAINST HIGH COURT
by Eliran Aharon
The "Derech Haim" movement, which is dedicated to leading the Jewish nation to conduct public life in accordance with the Torah's teachings, demonstrated this morning opposite the High Court carrying placards stating "Stop the High Court's dictatorship."
In a flyer distributed by the movement they wrote: "Salim Jubran thinks he knows more Torah than the rabbis, Menny Mazuz thinks he understands security issues better than the Chief of Staff, Miriam Naor thinks she knows how to deal with migrants better than the elected representatives, and the High Court is convinced it is cleverer and more ethical than all of us. It's time to stop this madness, it is immoral, undemocratic, and certainly un-Jewish."
As part of the campaign, posters were printed stating "High Court - ego,ego is what you seek."
Uri Kirschenbaum, a member of the board of the Derech Haim movement, said today that "We started the campaign to convey a very simple message - enough of the High Court's dictatorship, it is unacceptable that a small group representing a miniscule amount of the people of Israel should force itself on the public."
Kirschenbaum added that "our struggle is not sectorial. The High Court is harming all of us. Today it is Amona, yesterday it was the residents of Tel Aviv who continue to suffer from the migrant population and tomorrow it could be any one of us. We call on everyone to join our struggle. We will return the High Court to its true proportions, and then we can conduct a normal political dialogue here as it should be conducted in a Jewish state."

6. FOREIGN RESIDENTS TO BENEFIT FROM PUBLIC TRANSPORT SUBSIDIES
by Haim Lev
A letter sent from the Transportation Ministry to MK Yisrael Eichler (UTJ) states that people holding temporary residency in Israel will also qualify for public transport subsidies. Copies of the letter were sent to all the public transport companies in Israel
The letter said that "With regard to your application concerning the subject of public transport subsidies, the Ministry has decided to allow holders of temporary residency visas for at least a year (excepting those with work permits) to benefit from public transport subsidies. A directive on this was sent to all the public transport companies."
MK Eichler said that, for a long time, thousands of tourists with temporary residency like students and religious students had been refused public transport subsidies since they are not residents. The new directive enables them to benefit from these subsidies as well.
7. ASSAD: ISRAEL ALONE IS OUR ENEMY
by Tal Polon
In an interview with Syrian newspaper Al Watan this morning, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed that "Israel alone" is Syria's enemy.
"He who conquers our land is an enemy country, not [merely] a country whose leaders employ hostile policies. Israel alone remains our enemy country."
"Our land" is apparently a reference to the Land of Israel itself, and not Syria, which Arab news outlets reported yesterday the Israeli Air Force had bombed.
Assad's statements come as his army is three weeks into an operation to recapture east Aleppo - in rebel hands since 2012.
Assad now holds around 80 percent of the former opposition stronghold, and has advanced quickly.
At least 384 civilians, including 45 children, have been killed in government fire on east Aleppo since the operation began, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Another 105 civilians, including 35 children, have been killed in rebel fire on government-held west Aleppo in the same period, the British-based monitor says.
